Fruit Prospect
Mr. W. E. Orr, of Fruitlands,
director of fruit spraying for the
Province ot Ontario, who has just
come from a trip through the Niag-
ara peninsula, gives a most glowing
account of the prospects for fruit in
that district, Such fruits as apples,
pairs, plums, etc., are now in fall
blossom, and simply loaded with it,
and if the weather keeps firle for just
a few days there will' no doubt be
an abundant crop. The early peach
crop also promises exceedingly well.
There hts been an abundance of
blossom, and the fruit is now' form-
ing very nicely. The spraying ex-
periments, se far as they have gone,
he says, have been closely watched
by the farmers and fruit -growers
wherever they have taken place; and
the results will be looked for with
great interest.

A. B. Fishleigh, of 417 Bathurst st.,
formerly, of Brussels, has in his pos-
session a collection of old news-
papers and facsimiles of important
documents that is probably , the
rarest to be found on this continent,
if not in Europe. It comprises among
others a facsimilie of a . warrant to ;
execute Mary, Queen of Scotts, A.
D., 1587, printed at the time; a copy
of the English Mercurie, •published
at Whitehall. July 23rd; '1588; a
facsimile of the warrant to execute
King Charles 1., printed at the time,
with all the signatures of the Judic-
ial Court; a copy of the Intelligeneer
a perfect diurnal (journal) of some
passages in Parliament, 1648; the
Gazette of 1658, the sum of foreign
intelligence with the affairs now on
foot in the three nations of Scotland,
England and Ireland. Also several
copies of the London Times from
1797 to 1806. The last mentioned
issue contains an extended account
of the funeral of Lord Nelson, and is
dated Jan 10tH, 1806. The collection
is ot great interest to the antiquarian
ancl is a singular testimony to the
care with which the family of Mr,

years these literary treasures. All
the papers are in an excellent state
