Wednesday when his daughter Debbie was
united in holy bonds of matrimony, to
Mr, Alex. Montgomery of Orangehlll. The
ceremony was performed by the Bev. G. A.
Gifford. The happy couple left on the
afternoon express for Niagara, Toronto
and other eastern pointa.arrying with
them the good, wishes of their many
friends.
--set noon on Wednesday the band boys

here under
auspices, They marched along Josephine
Street playing followed by two of the
Company, dressed as roan and wife.
Their attics attracted quite a crowd and
caused a good deal of merriment. The
Wilson Company put up a remarkably
good program for 10 and 15e. Mr, Wilson
is an evening's entertainment in himself,
and there is not a weak character in the
Company. A. noticeable feature in the
entertainment is its entire freedom from
smut or vulgarity. This must commend
itself to all who have love for mirth, pure
and simple. Following this course the
success of the company is insured.

—In his sermon on Sunday morning, in
the Presbyterian church, Rev. Dr. Moffat
made an apt reference to the relation of
the business man to the church. In this
age of keen competition, of large city
departmental stores, and the misleading
advertisements sent out by some of these
concerns, the local business men need the
encouragement of the ehuroti. He said
that litany an honest business man had
been forced to the wall, simply because he
had not the sympathy and the support of
those who should have stood by him. In
our own estimation the Doctor struck the
key -note of ono of the difficult problems
of the day. The man is short sighted, in-
deed, if he does not see that trading with
great concerns in Toronto must ultimately
work ruin to his own interests Where is
