Reports have been received from Dr. Nansen's exploring party, stating that they have been successful in reaching the North Pole. We do not know what benefit it will" be geographically or geologically but we know the dis- covery will bring fame to the intrepid Doctor and no doubt his name will be handed down the pages of history with those of the early days of ex- ploration such as Columbus, Cabot*, Hawkin and Frobisher, and civili- zation will be fully rewarded if the fact of his having reached the long sought spot, will keep other fool- hardy fame worshippers from reck- lessly saerifieing their live:; in the vain endeavor to navigate those - northern seas.
