be microfilmed, county clerk
treasurer Bill Hanly was assured
when he attended the annual
meeting of the Bluewater
Regional Newspaper_ Network
`RRNN) last Thursday in Clinton.
Mr. Hanly told BRNN members
that the county's history project
has • an index, based on
information obtained from Huron
weeklies, from 1900 on and would
like to make sure tht the back

Development workshop felt
hamlets should continue to exist,

'development in the Township Mr.
Penfold said. People also felt
there were rural areas not useful
for _farming .that - could be..
developed-for housing, .he said.
In the area of recreation,
people felt development of the.
Lake Huron shore should be
carefully controlled. The
consensus was that there was
enough, inland recreational land
in the Township already Mr.
Penfold said.
There isn't - a great —deal of
potential for tke development of
extractive resources in the
Township, Mr. Penfold said, The
new plan will not be able to force
the restoration of gravel pits that
are already worked . out and
abandoned..
Mr. Penfold said the new plan
will • be draughted by early in
September, and that copies would
be sent to all •residents for
consideration. He • said further
public meetings would be held- in
the fall to examine problems in
the plan, and that by the end of
1977, the plan should have been
given two readings by Council.
The new plan„,„should be in
effect through the passsing of
by-laws by the end of 1978, Mr.
Penfold • said.

and said the loss was only partly
covered by insurance. -
The Smiths aren't sure how the
fire started but said it could have
bee .a 'problem with-vvirihg,
Mrs. Wit Beck 'is home after
having been a patient in
University Hospital since a car
accident last January.
