The best one yet was the
concensus of competitors and •
Optimists alike as the Seaforth
optimists 5th annual canoe race
ended late Sunday afternoon.
While all details' have not been
completed the proceeds should be
well up from last year, committee
chairman Arnold Stinnissen said.
There were 56 entries this year
from as far away as Barrie,
Toronto and Windsor.• This
compares with last year when
there were 26 entries.
Co-chairman , Keith _MacLean
said ticket sales on a draw for a 14
ft canoe were good. ,The, canoe
was won by-Rob Grant of Exeter
on a ticket sold him by his brother
in-law Dave Longstiff.
Competitors entered the waters
1410.Mnenarii,ib
of the Bayfield river at the'
