Mr. Ellis said that in press reports at the time which quoted him as saying "we'" or "the town" were told by the OPC not. to give Mr. Lauzon a hearing bechuSe he had already resigned. He was using "we" or "the town" to refer to the police committee, of which the chief is an employee and advisor.
