proceedings will be particularly interesting
from the fact that the eloquent andpopular
Bishop of Huron, the Right Rev. Maarice
S. Baldwin, D. D., will be a prominent
speaker as well as the President, his name

that Mr. Eugene Stock, so long and widely
known as editorial secretary of the Clairol)
Missionary Sooiety of England, will be
present, and speak on some leading topie.
The vicinity of the City of Detroit has also
made it practicable to secure the friendly
assistance of some of its most activeaurch
workers and residents, which will no
doubt tend to euliyen the proceedings and
contribute to the success of the convention.
The local Secrataries are Rev. T, B. Smith
and Mr..T. L. Kent, 'Windsor, Ont., and en-
tertainment is offered to all comers.

A DDITIONAL LOCALS.
— -When is the end of the 19th century,
the first of January 1900 or 1901 ? Some
say one date and others put their money on
the other. The latter is correct.
—The Brussels Herald has changed
hands, Mr. Roland Woolsey, of Toronto,
being the new proprietor. Mr. Moore goes
back to the teaching profession.
—The Miss and Toronto Weekly Globe
will be sent to new subscribers from now
till the 1st of January, 1890, for 25 cents.
—The stone work of the machine shop
of the Inion Furniture factory is being
asi?e4 anng rapidly, and in a few days
the ,,tick work will be commenced. Messrs,
McGregor Brothers are doing the stone
work. The building is 75x90 feet, and will
be two stories, with basement. The old
Slik mill has been rvmoved, and the erec-
tion of the dry will be begun in a few days.
—In the London Conference of the
Methodist church there are 294 Epworth
League and Christian Endeavor Societies,
with a total membership of 14,503, which
contributed. for all purposes, during the
year ending June, 1895, the handsome
sum of 67,855.40. The London Conference
leads all the other conferences in Canada,
both in membership and. contributions.

wives of Messrs. Arthur Wells and
W. H. Kerr presented them with a
son and daughter, respectively, this
