The Wingham Times, 1895-10-04, Page 5ro BEILGR.AV'E FALI+ mow, The fall show of the East. Wawanosh Agricultural Society was held at Belgravo, on Monday and Tuesday last. The display in the inside departments was good, even 7 the fruit making a very creditable exhibit, The fine arts and ladies department was well filled and the competition close,. Tlie weather was find on. Tuesday, though a little cool, and, there was a pretty large crowd. The show of horse's was Pally up to the average and in cattle some fine animals were shown, Sheep and pigs were well represented, but it was noticeable that there was not a Tamworth . pig shown. .Pork packers highly recom- 17 mend this breed as prodttcing a superior meat for their purpose, but ,,they do not appear to have been taken up by our farmers to any ex- tent . as yet. Implements were shown in good variety, and the " whip -seller " and "jewelry fakir " were in evidence, These gentry should not be permitted to ply their business on the fair grounds. The show as a whole was quite successful and the officers of the. society, will come out with a surplus to still further add to their prize list and enlarge their show.
