A small barn in •Dublin owned
by Hugh Benninger was saved by
the Mitchell giep Fire Brigade
when fire broke- 6:if:Thursday
morning •at 8:39.
In spite of poor visibility,
thige-foot drifts and eight
al,andoOdtars on the thad-(they'
helped push a 'couple of drivers,
out of drifts) the firemen arriVid
in time to put out the fire, It was
caused by a heat bulb that felt
against a board, The embers from
the board ignited bales of 'straw.
,' Fire Chief Murray Dalrymple
said the fire loss was minimal but
there 'Was some concern .about
&moke inhalation to several beef
cattle and 'a number of rabbits in
the barn.
Chief DalryMple expressed his
thanks to neighbours for 'the
coffee supplied to h is men as
they worked. - It • was
appreciated", he said.
STUDYING THE HURONS — Seaforth Public School
students had an interesting day, Thursday, before
the., storm closed ....the school, Margaret Tyndall,
above, right and Betty Swalps, from the Ministry of
Culture _ and Recreation in Midland brought
programs on the Huron Indians 'and New France
