A Cycling Meet in St. Thomas.
Bicycling is assuming such proportions
in Canada that in every neighborhood there
are young riders who give promise of de-
veloping into speedy goers, besides scores
of enthusiastic wheelmen who ride for
pleasure, not for speed. To all these
interest will attach to the announcement
that the St. Thomas Bicycle Club, the
second oldest—if not the oldest --club in
the C. W. A. will held a great meet on the
Queen's Birthday. In 1352 the Canadian
•Wheelmen's Association was organized in
St. Thomas, and this is the first ambitioitsr
effort in the way of a eyeles S tzkiit lie
club has attemp,t,earlta . e'that occasion. A
new cinder t' ak hexpected to be one of the
fastest C
M4fi1 Canada, is being built, hundreds
...,, dollars worth of prizes will be offered,
and all indications point to the meet being
the greatest affair of the season, excepting
the C. W. A. meet.

Presbyterian Women.
Last week's issue of The Canada Presby-
terian was note -worthy owing to increase,
of size and the special interest and value
of the contents, It contained a complete
report of the anneal meeting, of the Wo-
man's Foreign Missionary Society, extend-
ing to fourteen columns. Every member
of this important Society should have a
copy. Other useful features are the Chris-
tian Endeavor Department, by Rev. W. S.
McTavish, B. D., St. Gorge ; the Sabbath
School Lesson, by .Rev. W. A. J. Martin,
of Toronto; and letters from missionaries
in the foreign fields. "Sundays in Scot-
land" is a bright description' of several
ministers and churches in the motherland
of so many Canadians. All the regular.
departments are unusually full. The
publishers offer a trial sttbstlription till 1st
January next for one dollar.
