GOODBYE CHRISTMAS TREE — There's no doubt at all that Christmas in
Seaforth is over for another year. First thing Monday morning PUC employees Tom
Phillips and Doug Smale were cutting apart the lovely Blue Spruce Christmas tree

FEBRUARY 12,1976
Dr. Wm. R. Aberhart, passed away in
Sarnia in his 72nd year. He was the eldest son
of the late Chas. Aberhart, long time druggist
in Seaforth.
Death of Mrs. Frank Cudnaore was a shock
to her many 'friends in Seaforth: She was
survived by her daughter, Mrs. James
Hutchins of London and one brother Reg. Reid
of Stratford. •
Rev. Ted Stephens of Brucefield was
involved in a three car accident during a
"white out" that made seeing impossihle on
feeds, gave a cheque-to Mayor Betty Cardna
for the arena renovation fund in 'the sum of
$3500.

Police chief John Cairns of town found a
queer loOking plant which turned out to be
marijuana. The plant was 4 feet in height.
Mrs. David Ryan, aged 99 years, died at.

Warren Whitmore, R.R. 4, Seaforth, won a
Christmas stocking filled with $25. at a draw
sponsored by the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Muriel K. Watson, daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Willis, died suddenly
at her residence in Godeiich. •
JANUARYS, 1976
Mac Lamond of Crotnarty was a• patient in
Exeter Hospital, after falling off the top rung
of a ladder in his barn.
Seaforth's oldest resident in the person of
Mrs. Wendel Roth. passed away. Mrs. Roth
was the mother of'Mrs. Ewe, E. William St.,
and wA' in her. 100th year. '
Mrs. Gee1, Pethick - accepted $400. in
merchandise'vouchers ,from the Seaforth
Chamber of Commerce. ,
Seaforth band needed $3500. to finance
their trip to Fort Meyers, Fla.

birthday. He lives with his daughter Mrs.

Seaforth'ig Main St. was a swarm of lights as
a torch light parade of snowmobiles opened
the 9th Optimist Winter „c4rnival.
Miss Bete Maia of Brazil who• is staying on
the McNichol farm in McKillop likes farm life.
Vanastra rec. deficit alarms Tuckeismith.
Ed. Daly is the new p.U.C. chairman. He
was a former mayor and P.U.C. 'member since
1972. ".

A cow owned by Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Dale of
Seaforth won a production award as an
outstanding Jersey. ,
, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Consitt of Hensall
celebrated their 60th •with an open house.
Both are 80 years old and he shovels his own
snow.
Mrs. Wm. Drover, Seaforth, 88 years, old,
died at Seaforth Community Hospital. She
was the former Pearlf Rivers.
Mary Czerwinski won $10,000.

Dr. Rodger Whitman of the local Horticul-
tural Society presented a trillium award to
Mrs. Audrey McLlwain.
Leo Hagan cuts his 65th birthday cake at a
surprise party at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
A.Y. McLean.

Mrs. Elmer Rivers, Seaforth, was elected
president of Huron Presbyterial of the
W.M.S. of the Presbyterian • church in
Canada. The secretary is Mrs. W.R. Kerslake.
The supply convener is. Miss Jean Scott and
the Historian is Miss Belle Campbell, all of
Seaforth.
Birthday greetings wefe extended to Mrs.
Minnie Hawley' at Seaforth Manor 'on the
occasion of her 90th birthday.
Charles Sills, son of Mr.. and Mrs. Thos. D.
Sills of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away in his
-29th year.
