Highly organized sports
programs are a vital part of
community life in Canada. Yet
many of oui children are, through
no fault of their own, or for that
matter, through no one elses
fault, denied the joy .of
competitive rt.
" lrysicalwess gap", for
exa medical; poor
co-ordination; lack of the "win"
attitude or plain medidcrity. What
ever the reason some youngsters
simply do not, get their share of
success in sports.
The Knights of Columbus
basketball free throw lays no
to solving all these
problems. What it does do though
is to allow maximum participation
with a minimum of skills.
District 51 of the Knights of

\The Seaforth Centenaires
,ntounced Monday evening, the
resignation of _coach Jim Nigro
and the signing of Att Strong to
replace Jim: , •
Jim In , his second season at
Seaforth, 'ran into personal
problems and ill health and felt it
better to step down. •
The Executive of the Centen-
aires have signed a local man in
Art Strong and feel with a couple
of new faces in .the line-up, just
might turn this season around.
Art comes to the Centenaires
with lots of local coaching
experience with his last team, the
Ontaria`Juvenile finalists. It will
be Art's first attempt at Jr.
hockey and we wish him the best
of luck.
Mt. Bridges 19, Seaforth 4
The Mt. Brydges Cougars got
some revenge on the Centenaires
Saturday evening as they
whipped Seaforth 19-4. Stilt
remembering, some of the
humiliating defeat& from last
season, the', Cougars took no pity
on the Centenaires because they
were shortTlianded and really
poutedi-'t- on.
he first period saw the score
' and it changed to 10-1 after
two periods.
Scott Wheeler and Paul
McClure each picked up two goals
for the Centenaires as they tried
to manage with just 10 players.
:,, The local boys who did play
sure didn't give up and only
proved the fact that a full team
will provide a competitive squad.
.
Last Friday night the Seaforth
Centenaires played a strong game
for two periods but couldn't hang
ph as the Port Stanley Lions
dumped the local' boys by a 5-2
count.
,The first period saw Jeff Hodge
score the only goal as the Lions
peppered 17 shots at Lou Arts,
but still only had a 1-0 first period
lead as a power play goal
Provided the advantage for ‘:the
visitors.
The second'period was, only 12
seconds old Wheal Bill O'Shea
evened, the score at 1 a piece then
at the 7:53 mark, O'Shea put
