Team standings: Bruins, 47; Leafs, 57; Seaf, 47; \The Seaforth Centenaires ,ntounced Monday evening, the resignation of _coach Jim Nigro and the signing of Att Strong to replace Jim: , • Jim In , his second season at Seaforth, 'ran into personal problems and ill health and felt it better to step down. • The Executive of the Centen- aires have signed a local man in Art Strong and feel with a couple of new faces in .the line-up, just might turn this season around. Art comes to the Centenaires with lots of local coaching experience with his last team, the Ontaria`Juvenile finalists. It will be Art's first attempt at Jr. hockey and we wish him the best of luck. Mt. Bridges 19, Seaforth 4 The Mt. Brydges Cougars got some revenge on the Centenaires Saturday evening as they whipped Seaforth 19-4. Stilt remembering, some of the humiliating defeat& from last season, the', Cougars took no pity on the Centenaires because they were shortTlianded and really poutedi-'t- on. he first period saw the score ' and it changed to 10-1 after two periods. Scott Wheeler and Paul McClure each picked up two goals for the Centenaires as they tried to manage with just 10 players. :,, The local boys who did play sure didn't give up and only proved the fact that a full team will provide a competitive squad. . Last Friday night the Seaforth Centenaires played a strong game for two periods but couldn't hang ph as the Port Stanley Lions dumped the local' boys by a 5-2 count. ,The first period saw Jeff Hodge score the only goal as the Lions peppered 17 shots at Lou Arts, but still only had a 1-0 first period lead as a power play goal Provided the advantage for ‘:the visitors. The second'period was, only 12 seconds old Wheal Bill O'Shea evened, the score at 1 a piece then at the 7:53 mark, O'Shea put Seaforth aheid 2-1 as the "Centenaires looked strong.
