It was a happy occasion when
Mrs. August Hinz was a guest of
her son and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Hinz, and Mr. and
Mrs. J. W.Lockhart at a family
dinner of her 90th birthday.
Dinner was served at Brodhagen
Community Centre by Mrs.
George Rock, Mrs. Robert
French, assisted by Reuben
Buuck. The table was beautifully
decorated with pink tinted pintos,
matching pink candles and centre
centred with a beautifully
decorated birthday cake. Guest
included members of her
friend and neighbour Mrs. Louise
Jarmn th. M rs. Hinz resides at
the Ritz Lutheran Villa, and takes
an active part in the crafts room
and other activities. She is a
member of Grace Lutheran
Church in Mitchell.
Mrs. Hinz has four
grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.
Lovely gifts, flowers and cards
were received including greetings
from Hugh Edighoffer, M.P.P.
and Joe Clark, Progressive
Conservative Leader, the
Governor General and Madame
Leger, Bill Jarvis M.P. for Perth
and the Honorable Wm. Davis,
Premier of Ontario.
She is the aunt of Mrs. Laverne
Wolfe.

Folks will be glad to hear that
Mr.Barry Dietz has returned from
Seaforth Community Hospital
where he has been a patient and
is now recuperating.
Friends of little Jason Vock will
be pleased to know he has
returned home from, Stratford
General Hospital where he was a
patient.
St. Peter's Lutheran Church,
Brodhagen, was beautiful with
many flowers Sunday morning.
The flowers beside the organ
were placed there by the Meyer
Family in memory of their brother
Martin who passed away a year
ago, also in emery of their
parents and bra ers John and
Herman.
There was a basket flowers
from the funeral of OA Ate Mr.
Norman Eisler, the funeral was
held ,on Saturday in Grace
Lutheran Church, Mitchell with
Rev. 'Vernon Thereinen.
There were also baskets of
flowers from the funeral, of Mrs.
Emma Leolihardt whose funeral
was held on Saturday. Pastor
Arthur Horst officiated at the
funeral at the Lockhart funeral
home.
We are sorry to hear Mr. Carl
Priestap pis a patient in Seaforth
Community Hospital.'
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Dietz
accompanied her brother and
sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Wassman, to Guelph on the
weekend to spend some tinie with
the former's sister Mrs. Velma
Thiel. Martin is remaining for a
few days.
Mr. and Mr. Les. Weitersen
enjoyed a 50th wedding
anniversary which they attended
in Stratford for Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Les Weitersen
received word of the passing of
Rev._Paul Bechter from Texas. He
was the husband of Margaret
Viegant. Her father, the late Rev.
Viegant served St. Peter's
Lutheran cb,nrch, Brodhagen for
25 years from 1895 to 1920.
Mrs. Martin Diegel and Mr.
George Quincey visited from New
Jersey. M artin Quincey had a
game in Stratford last weekend.
At the same home for dinner
were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Baehart,
Kari, Brussels, Mr. and Mrs.
Doug. Elliot, Shawn, Bornholm,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Diegel,
Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Lavern
Wolfe and Dale, Brodhagen and
Ron Webber, Exeter.
Congratulations to Mrs. John
Vock wbo-retired from her mail

meeting at St. Patrick's school

meeting of First Church Ladies'
Aid. She opened with a poiem
"What is Christmas" and Hymn,
"0 Come Al! Ye Faithful"
Scriptures from 2nd. Chap, .of
Math ew (V-1 to 11) was read by
auditorium with Lion President
Jim Paratchek in charge. Lion
Herb Brown held his usual honest
draw. Prize was won by 1 ion

Mr. Nelson gave a talk on
christmas and what it means.
