Reeve Elgin Thompson, completing twenty years on council, 15 of them as reeve,,will not be seekign re-election. "I have been seeing about someone to take ray place. I have been asked to re-consider and run as a councillor as they want me back on A.M.Q. next year (he is vice-president), Mr. Thompson said, "but it is pretty hard to sit on council after you've been reeve," Deputy Reeve Ervin Sillery, with 15 years' experience on council, four of them as deputy reeve, Will run for reeve. Robert Bell, completing his first two-year term, will move up to run for deputy - reeve, Councillor Cleave Coombs says he is "not going to run again" atter11 years on council.
