Mr. and Mrs. Ron Thompson, London visited with the latter's parents Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Leonhardt, and attended the Westman-Vock wedding last Saturday. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Brown were their son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Allen . Brown, Melbourne and -their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kettlewell, Janet and Elaine, Strathroy. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Elliott and Shawn of Walton are residing at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bode, formerly owned by Mr.. and Mrs. Albert HInz. Congratulations are extended to the newlywed couple Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ryan. They are residing at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs, Frank Van Hevel. Sorry to hear Chris Leonhardt is a patient in Seaforth Community Hospital. We wish him a speedy recovery. Laing 345-2326 Mrs. Allan Bain, R .R.3, Strat- ford, was guest speaker at the Thankoffering meeting of the Marian Ritchie evening auxiliary and their guests, members of the Women's Missionary Society. In her remarks, Mrs. Bain pointed out the advantages of taking part in meeting and activities at the P resbytery level. She also listed several ways in which regular monthly meetings can be made more interesting and noted that people -can usually find time to do what they want to do. Her talk concluded with a reading on time - Twenty-four Hours. Mrs. Lloyd Millet presided for the meeting with Mrs. Duncan Scott at the piano for the hymns. The worship service opened with a poem. C.W.O., London, George Warwin and Tom Vanevery, Waterloo. Pastor Rock also attended the executive board of Synod meeting in; Waterloo. Sympathy of the community is extended to Mrs. Orval Beuer- man, two sons, five daughters, two brothers, three sisters and 11 grandchildren in the death of Orval Beuerman, who passed away in University Hospital, London on Friday. He was hymn, "All People That on Earth do Dwell" and prayer. Mrs. Philip James read the scripture, Matt. 6:25-33. The roll call was answered with a Thanksgiving verse. In the absence of the secretary, the minutes were read by Mrs. Robert Laing. Mrs. John Templeman was in charge of the business. Mrs. Clifton Miller sang "Thank You Jesus, " and the topic on, the history of Thanksgiving was taken by Mrs.R. Laing. Mrs. Bain conducted an alphabetical Bible quiz. Cavan UCW Correspondent Mrs. Marg Hulley 527-1856 Sandra Hulley was guest speaker at the October 19 meet- ing of Cavan U.C.W. when she told of her Brazilian family. She said' in Bel Horizonte which means "the beautiful horizon", young people' are dependent on their parents until through university where here the young people work and many pay their own way through school.
