MRS. ROY A. MacDONALD
Mrs. MacDonald, the former
Clara Sararus, wise of Roy A.
MacDonald, Hensall, died in
South Huron Hospital, Exeter on
Thursday, October 14th in her
72nd year.
Surviving, is her husband, Roy
A. MacDonald, her mother, Mrs.
Elizabeth Sararus, Hensall,
brothers, Earl, WEston; Izop,
Hensall; and sisters Mrs. Laura
Hubbert, Toronto; Mrs. Ecliia
Caldw,e11, Exeter; Mrs. Jack
Greta) Reid, Mississauga; Mrs.
Doris Bonthron, London.
Funeral service was, held from
thQ 'Bonthron Funeral Home,
Hensall, Saturday, October 16th
at 2 p.m. with Rev. Da Beck
officiating. Int erment folloWed in
Staffa Cemetery. The pallbearers
were Carter. Kerslake, Cliff
Miller , Spencer Jeffrey, Gordon
Hoggarth, Dick Taylor, Harold

Sunday and attended the
Baptismal Service in Carmel
Presbyterian when their grand-
daughter Angelo Michelle
Volland was baptized.
Constable Gerry Chapman,
Mrs. Chapman and daughters of
Burlington and Rod Chapman
who has been transferred to the
Bank of Montreal, Barrie spent
the weekend with their parents
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Chapman.
Mrs. Betty Scott, Seaforth,
Mrs. Doris Bonthion, Janice and
Shelley, London were guests with
Mr. and Mrs. Bevan Ponthron
and daughters on Sunday and
attended the Baptismal service in
Carmel Presbyterian Church
when Erin Rebecca Bonthron was
baptized.
Entertainment was the' high-
light of the Women's, Institute
October "fleeting held last Weti• nesday, {fleeting
13, at the
Hensall Legion Hall. The topic
was Family and Consumer
Affairs.
The Millar family from Zurich
playing two guitars, drums and
moroccos played selections and
requests from the audience for
about half an hour and were
keenly appreciated.
The meeting was chaired and
opened by the president, Mrs.
Cecil Pepper reading a poem
"Thanks"- and a humorous read
ing "The Passing Phase" was
read by Mrs. "Ja-rck Corbett.
During the business session, it
was decided to contribute to the
C.N.I.B. as usual. A letter' about
the Huron County Women's,
Institute Bursary was read and
sixteen members answered the
roll tall, '`Name a nutritious food
,beginning with your initial."

United Church on Sunday was
conducted by Rev. Don Beck with
John Blackwell at the organ and.
Miss Karen McAllister at the
piano.
Two organ and piano duets
were played during the service
"Supplication" by Franz
Schubert and "Allegretto" by
Joseph Hayden.
The sermon was on the topic,
"One with Christ" and Rev. Beck
pointed out that as Christ' paid
ransom with His Life and blood,
so we should be willing to pay a
ransom for Him and friends and
neighbours. The flowers in the
church were from the funeral. of
Mrs, Clara McDonald.

Goshen Church Anniversary
Rev. Dr. H. G. Lester, assistant
minister of Central United Church
in Stratford, was the guest
speaker of Goshen Church
Anniversary on Sunday. In his
sermon "Building the Church"
he said he does not believe a
person can be a really good
Christian if he stays apart by
himself.
The early Christians always
grouped together, and he
compared members of the
Christian Church to living stones,
fitting together to make a strong
foundation frOm which they can

and help others.

comprised of Elva and Kathie
Peck, Norene and Marjorie

M ore'. The anthem
was "There's My Song".
Rev. Taylor announced that
tickets for the Anniversary
Supper on October 27 are nearly
all sold.
Your correspondent spent an
interesting afternoon last Friday
in the friendly atmosphere of the
Huron Expositor offices, when
they held Open House 'for all of
' their correspondents. The news
we send in is handled by at least
six different people, and it is a
credit to all of them that there is
seldom an error made.
