Strong. Mrs. Karen Roberts read
the scripture and Mrs, Alice
Tyndall spoke on a "Thanks,;
giving Theme."
God's word for Canada at this
Thanksgiving season is "The
church will be judged not by its
theology or its purity of worship,
but by our response to human
need. We have our wealth of
blessings. our wonderful
privileges, but if we use them for
any other purpose than the good
of all men, we shall not have
them long," she said.
As we celebrate this Thanks-
giving in Canada are we really
willing to be the .chosen people
counted worthy of a place in
Christ service?
Mrs. Olive Papple chaired the
business of the, meeting. The
ladies were reminded they are
catering to a banquet at Huron
Centennial School on November 4
and a bale of good used clothing
will be packed at the church the
first week in November.

A good attendance of members
and visitors of Egmeadville
United Church Women were
inspired when Father Laragh
spoke at their October meeting on
his recent. trip td' England and
Ireland. Arriving in England early
in July, he found 'the American
flags flying to commemorate the
4th of July holiday. The British
people spoke of their American
cousins as they played "God
Bless America."
While in England, he visited'
places of early British history with
great in terest, as well as
Westminister Cathedral and
Windsor Cathedral.
Dublin had just been bombed
previous to Father Laragh
arriving there and he found the
people very nervous.
Many places of interest were
visited while in Ireland, travelling
on a bus tour with touristk, from
all over the world.
Much of Ireland's income is
from the tourist trade 'as their soil
is poor and with an over-abund-
ance of rain, very little Can be
produced. The beauty of the
rolling hills, Lake Killarney, River
Shannon, River Boyne. Cork and
Laragh was enjoyed by Father
Laragh.
Library in Ottawa. These titles
include fiction and non fiction.
Photographs of some of the
early Seaforth buildings have
been mounted and hung in the
library halls.
On October 16. 10:00 a.m.,
there will 'be a book sale in the
library basement. Hardbound
books , will be sold at 10 cents a
piece.
Why not get into the habit of
visiting your local library? You
will be surprised to find how
pleasant and helpful the branch
