Hulletiand' the Town 'of Seaforth are required to pay $15. Curlers not sure building okay The Seaforth Curling Club's addition which will house its new ice making equipment is completed. Club president Bob Ste. Marie says refrigeration equipment will be instlled next week that will make the curling club inde- pendent of the arena. Since the club was built, it has shared the arena's ice making facilities and last year curlers voted to spend -$25,000 to set up their own equipment. However, the club isn't sure that the provincial labour ministry will allow the building to open. The ministry ordered an engineer's report on the condition of the building, which although privately owned, allows public access. Mr. Ste. Marie .says theotlub has just gotten the report from engineers -C.C.Parker and Associates of London, but ' he's . been unable to get s' old of ministry People to g& : their opinion on it. "When I've called they've been conveniently Out:" he "saiet,g$,.;.' On the one hand Mr. • Ste. • Marie says, the engineer's report says the building will likOly last another 24 years and then in another paragraph it says it can't recommend even summer use. Curlers hope they can use the building this winter, perhaps with monitoring of snow loads, as the province_ is allowing some arenas to do, because it is probably too late to get repairs completed now before winter, the president said.
