In relation to the carriage of CICO-TV-24,,„as
stated in previous -decisionsrthe-Commission
considers that the programmingtof OECA should
be distributed, wherever technically feasible, on
a uniform channel across the province in order to '
facilitate identification. The Commission
therefore. requires the licensee to distribute
CICO-TV-28 exclusively onlchannel 2 and advise
the Commission of any channel changes resulting
, from this requirement. '
In relation to the proposed change in the
distribution of CKGN-TV Paris, Ontario, and as
stated In its Public Announcement of December
.21, 1973, the, Commission requires the licensee,
wherever poisible, .to prfovide for the uniform
carriage of Global on channel 3. The application
to change the ,distribution of CKGN-TV from
channel 3 to ch4nnel 6 is, accordingly, DENIED.

annOtMeediast week that an FM
radio ,outlet licence has been
gated to CKNX Whigham, The
WMgham. broadcasting firm
alteady operates a television
station and an AM radio service.
CKNX was one of the .early
rackstations in Ontario. Its AM
service 'went on the air in 1926
and was. followed in 1955 by the
CKNX television service. Station
manager Ross Hamilton termed
the CRTC licence grant as the
completion "of a trilogy of
broadcasting for CKNX "
Now that the CRTC has ruled
favorably on the licence appli-
cation CKNX will begin final
preparations for commencement
of the new service. According to
Mr. Hamilton the FM outlet will
be ready by early 1977.
drit all depends on the suppliers
of...equipment," he explained.
The ttew st ation will operate
under the call letters CKNN-FM
or Stereo 102, and will broadcast
at 101.7 on the FM dial. It will
have a power of 22,000 watts and
cover all of Grey, Bruce and
Huron Counties as well as major
portions of Perth and Wellington
Counties.
Among .the conditions laid
down by the' CRTC in granting the
licence is a stipulation that the
new station must provide one half
hour each week of commercial
free time to public access.
The CRTC also demands that,''
because of the ownership associa-
don with CFPL Broadcasting of
London, Ontario, the Winghim
programming must be distinctly
different from that on CFPL-FM.
The new station will create six
new jobs initially and further jobs
as the station progresses.

You • find some interesting •
things when you're renovating a
house, Expo4itor reader Dolores
O'Dwyer has found. In her hdtise
at 19 Coleman St., she found
several pages from 1946 issues 'of
the Stratford Beacon Herald,
The papers were ,under a floor
covering that's being torn up and
indicate that the flooring was put '
down almost thirty years' to the
day ago, as one page was dated
October 8, 1946.
"A loaf of bread is advertised
at ila.yeents," she told the
Exp nor, indicating that a lot of
things besides' fashions in floor
coverings have changes, in the
last 30 years.
