In my column two weeks ago.1
mentioned if this, dry weather
continued, the beans should be
mostly, harvested by the weekend.
But as local people knOW, it has
rained off and on for the, past lg
days and about half of the large
bean crop remains in the field
waiting for dry sunshine weather.
Every time 1 washed our car
this summer, .it rained. This
weekend 1 didn't, and now looks
like it's going to be dry weather
again. So if you see me driving
arynd with a dirty car, you will
know the reason why.
We had, a leak in our gardge
roof. So yesterday I fixed it. At
least 1 thought 1 had,.but will have
to wait for rain to prove it. it's not
Jearking, now, so I win anyway.

A new kind of thunder at a new lower price.
The 1977 Thunderbird has a new look, a new size
and a new lower price—but it's still unmistakably
Thunderbird.
Leaner, cleaner, trimmer in size. Thunderbird has
been strikingly re-designed with elegant styling both inside
and out.
It's a car equipped to make driving a pleasure.
Power steering, power front disc brakes, V-8 engine,
automatic transmission, steel-belted radials are all
standard.
Thunderbird's new suspension system and wide
stance provide both nimble handling and a comfortable ride.
Perhaps the most unexpected thing about today's
new Thunderbird is the lower manufacturer's suggested
retail price. You'll find it almost unbelievable that a
Thunderbird can be so easy to own.
