the fact that over 180 boys

are over 30 positions that need
filling. Another meeting 144 been
called for Thursday September
23rd at the Lower Lihraiv at 8;130
p.m. It is mandatory tht we must
have some more volunteers

This seems to be a popular time
for Golden weddings. Mrs. Doris
Muir of the staff has been busy
planning , celebrations for -her
parents Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Dalton, who celeb rate this week.
There is a family dinner at Walton
Inn on Sept. 11 for the immediate
family, followed by a reception at
the Community Centre. Visitors
are expected( from Albany, New
Yorki SrOuffville, Florida where
Mr. and' Mrs. Dalton spend the
winters. Mrs. Dalton spends
much of her time on her shell
crafts. I have seen some of her
shell work which is very, artistic
and beautiful. Kelly plays a lot of
shuffleboard and has been
champion for several years. He

Mrs. Pearl McFarlane, a
resident here, is able to continue
her church interests and recently
attended the Fireside Group of
First Presbyterian Church when
Father Laragh of St. James
Roman- Catholic Church was
guest speaker. He delighted the
group with a humorous talk on his-
recent trip to Ireland.
Mrs Gilchrist Coppin, nee
Livingstone, called at the home
Friday and visited old friends,
Mrs. 'Pearl McFarlane, Miss
Turnbull and Russ Hays.
The !Golden Wedding
celebrants called -here for a -short
visit leaving a piece of the
wedding cake for Mrs. McFarlane
and myself. It was good, to be
included• , in their celebrations.
Mrs.. Harriet Savauge of Niagara
Falls accompanied them. Harriet
is Kelly's sister.

Muir and took her to Goderich for
dinner with her grandson Dr.
Dick Speers.
Master Jeffrey Wilbee, Grade
1, came with his grandmother,
Mrs. Tom Wilbee of the staff.
Mrs. David Longstaff, director
of nurses, returned from her
-holidaysin Toronto and Windsor,
when she witnessed two acci-
dents', namely a plane crash over
Lake Ontario •at the C.N.E. 'and
the 0, train 'derailment near
Windsor.'

Mrs. A.W. Mooney, Massey
was in town over the weekend.
She drove me to "Schadeview"
Saturday afternoon where we
spent e afternoon in the sun
• watching the lake. Mrs. Mooney
retired from teaching in Espanola
for some years. At one time, she
taught here in S.P.S. having
charge of the art program. At
Espanola, she taught art and also
had charge of the Library. This
year, her pupils gained honours
at the C.N.E. for their mural
work, /
