CAREFUL NOW — Seaforth ambulance attendants Bob Watson and Bill Smith
move carefully as they take „accident victim Margaret Harrison to the 'ambulance
after a two car accident which saw her trapped in her car, for about 15 minutes on
Goderich Street W. late Friday afternoon. Mrs. Harrison was taken to Seaforth
Community Hospital with ankle and rib -fractures and Was transferred on the
weekend to Stratford General, where she is in. satisfactory condition. Her-grandson
Richard Gerrie, 12 of Orangeville was taken to Seaforth Community Hospital
immediately after the accident in a"police cruiser, local police said, as he had
'several cuts and is a bleeder or hemopheliac. Richard was transferred to Str'atford
General and then on to M cMaster University Hospital in Hamilton.

WILLIAM STEWART BUTT
William Ste,;art Butt, 42, of
Egmondville died suddenly on
Thursday, August 26 at Seaforth
Community Hospital. Mr. Butt, a
mechanic, felt ill at work
Thursday morning and , 'died
shortly after he was taken to
hospital.
Mr. Butt is survived by his
wife, the former Dorothy J.
Cuthill, his mother, Mrs.
Roy Butt of Seaforth and eight
children. They are Sheila,
Egmondville; Glenda, Stratford;
Wayne, Seaforth; Dianne, Mrs.
Larry McGrath, Egmondville and'
Barbara, Ste"ven, Sandra and
Kevin all at. home.
Four sisters and two brothers, •
Marilyn, Mrs.. James Zieglet,
Nova Scotia; Murray, Stratford;
Karen, Mrs. Al Geddes,
Egmondville; Brenda, Mrs., Peter
Pale, Stratford; Linda, Mrs
Wayne Reid, Hensall and 'Keith
of Seaforth. also survive.
The late Mr. Butt was born in
Stratford and received his
education in-Seaforth. He and his
wife were married here in 1954.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, August 28 'from the
R.S.Box Funeral Home at 2 p.m.
Rev. J. Ure Stewart officiated and
interment followed, in Maitland-
bank Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Merle
Glanville, Bill McLaughlin:
Robert Patrick, Robert Ruston,
Ken Morey and George Miller.
Flower bearers were , George
Powell, John E. MacLean, Bill
Papple and Donald MacLean.
Donations to the Ontario Heart
Foundation were received in
memory of the late Mr. Butt:
MARTHINTON
Seaforth native, Mary E.
Hinton died unexpectedly 'on
Sunday, August 8 at Guelph
General Hospital. Her illnes was
brief.
Mrs. Hinton leaves her
husband H.H."Bert" Hinton at
their home, 24 Park Ave., Acton,
son Robert Arthur Hinton,Quebec
City; son John Frederick Hinton,
Edmonton, and daughter
Citherine Jeanne, presently at
home; a brother Fred Jackson, of
Lenora, and three grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brother .
Louis Jackson.
Mrs. Hinton was born on Feb.
12, 1909, in Seaforth, the
daughter of the late Mr. and;Mrsi
L. C. Jackson, and after
graduating graduating from Seaforth
Collegiate attended the
University of Toronto. She was a
teacher At. Acton Continua tion
School, when she met Bert Hinton, •
and they were married in Seaforth "
'on July 5, 1941. They have lived
in Acton since. 'she continued,
teaching on' the occasional staff
for many years.
The Acton Free Press in a
recent issue said: Mary Hintbn
was an asset to her community, in
her own quiet way.
An active member of Lakeside
chapter of the I.O.D.E., she was
particularly talented in sewing
auk ,crafts; .her . articles were
among those. always admired and
quickly sold at bazaars. She was a
willing worker in many areas and
was a past regent.
A, member of 'St. Alban's
church; she was a member of the
Altar Guild.
Through her family, teaching
and community service, her life
has touched that ,of many others
in" Acton. Het..Contribittion ''was,
recognized and appreciated.
Funeral service was conducted '
August 11 at St. Alban's church,
Acton, cOnducted by the Rev.
Harry Dawson. • Interment
followed in Fairview cemetery.
V. DOUGLAS MALONEY
Douglas Maloney passed away
Sunday AuguSt 22' at Trenton
Memorial Hospital, Trenton, in
his 54th year following a lengthy
illness.
• Mr. Maloney had been assist-
ant postmaster. at , Frankford,
Ontario since his retirement from
the R.C.A.F. in, 1969.
He is survived by his wife, Iva
(Sutton) Maloney, one son, Mar-
vin of Windsor; his mother, Mrs.
yincent Maloney of St. Andrews
West; brothers, John, of Ottawa;
Wilbert of Seaforth; Howard of
Barrie; Andrew of Columbia,
South Carolina; Kenneth, St.
Andrews West; Sisters Eileen
(Mrs. T. McDonell) of Garden
City; Michigan; and Larraine,
,Mrs. McDonell of St. Andrews.
Funeral Mass was celebrated
by Rev. John Grainger at St.
Francis of Assisi Church, Frank-
ford on Tuesday August 24th at
11 a.m. Fellow comrades of
Legion Branch Frankford acted
as pallbearers. Interment took
place :at Frankford Cemetery.
MRS. HAROLD J. DUNN
The death occurred, in Toronto
Western Hospital on August , 22nd
of Mrs. Harold J. Dunn.
The former Erie Stewart she
was a. daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. D.H. Stewart of Sea-
forth She is survived by .' her
husband and , a sister Jean, Mrs.
Arnold Allan of Toronto.
The remains rested at the
Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel,
2357 Bloor Street Toronto until
August 25 when a service was
conducted at the Our Lady of
Sorrows Church, Sloth. • Street
West, Toronto. Interment fol-
lowed in Park Lawn Cemetery.
MELVINA DEMMERLING
Melvina Demmerling, widow of
the late• Andrew Demmerling,
Harriston, passed away in the
Milverton Nursing Home,
Milverton on her birthday August
25. She is survived by her
daughter, Hilda, Mrs. Bill
Austin, Seaforth, and son Eldon
of Harriston, also six grand-
children and several great grand
children. The funeral took place
en Friday with Rev. Roy Dungey,
London and Rev, • Henderson, -
Harriston bonducting•the service,
