spent in the Legion• Hall, Hensall
on Monday when over Sixty
relatives, neighbours and friends
honoured Miss Nancy Stretton,
bride-elect of this week, with a
miscellaneous sh6wer of gifts.,
Miss Susan Brintnell' of Exeter
read the address and Misses Jane
Campbell and Sinn• Stretton
assisted the guest of honour with
her gifts. She was the recipient of
Many beautiful gifts. A social
hour during which refreshments
were served was enjoyed by all.
Mrs. John Deitz was hostess at
her home on Wednesday last for
her niece Miss Gloria 'Adkins
whose marriage took place on
Saturday. A number of relatives
were present and the guest,, of
honour received several gifts. A
social hour was followed ' by
refreshments.

Sunday, coming in first.The start
was made from Tri-county
Bridge, Greenway and finished at
Grand Bend. The weatherman
'co-operated with bright sunshine
although it was a little cool. Mr.
and ' Mrs. Rene Boogemans
entertained the • paddlers • afterwards. •-
Mr. andlyIrs. Bill Tinney have
sold their residence on Queen
Street to •Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Heaton of Huron Park. They are
presently building a new one
storey, ranch-style home on their
adjoining vacant lot. Mr. and
Tinney will be residing' at
the home of Homer Campbell
until building is complete.

Several basements in Hensall
were flooded on Saturday
following the heavy rainstorm,
which resembled a cloud burst, in
the afternoon.

heifers and steers, demand was
active and prices were higher. Fat

committee, the Huron Board of
Education Monday afternoon
agreed to keep. J.A.D. McCurdy
elementary school at Huron Park

and Mrs. Don Dodds of Seaforth
and family visited the Goderich
Huron County Pioneer Museum
and drove around Ben Miller and
countryside.. Later, accompanied
by Mr. and Mrs. Sim Roobal they
went to Ridgetown and drove
-around Roncleau Park and stayed
overnight with Mr. Anthony
Gelderland. On Saturday they
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Case
Van Den Heuvel.

died at Richmond, B.C. last week.
The deceased spent her early
years in Hensall moving to the
west following her marriage.
Surviving is her husband, one
daughter and two sons.
