The Christian Reform Ladies took seveM residents for a drive and treated them at the Exeter Park. Those driving cars were Willie Visscher, Alice Rosenboom, Karen Knip, Ann Boersina, Pieta Brenderhorst. Visitors included Mr. and Mrs. E. Parker, Bayfield with Mrs. Featherston. MacGregor Correspondent Miss Kay 'Davis, bride-elect of this month was honoured at a miscellaneous showers at the home of her aunt Mrs. Drew Fowler, Northcrest Drive, London- recently when she was the recipient of many beautiful gifts. Mrs. J. Duckworth, Goderich and Mrs. Dreyv Fowler were in charge of contests. Miss Mary Ann Rathweil, Bayfield and Miss Karen Campbell, Hensall presented. the guest of honour with the gifts. Guests attended , from. Hensall, London, Goderich, Bayfield, Cling, Exeter and Michigan. Linen Shower Mrs. Doc Cameron, Mrs. Ken MacLean, Mrs. R. Gondie, Mrs, L. Archer, Mrs. D. Reid and Mrs. R. Boogemans hostessed a linen -shower in the Legion Hall in honour of Miss Kay Davis, bride-elect of 'this month. Mrs. MacLean was in charge of the contests. 'The bride-elect occupied a decorated chair and was preiented with a beautiful array of gifts by Karen Campbell. Mrs. Ann Spanton, Sarnia, and Miss Mary Ann Rathwell, Bayfield assisted the bride, opening gifts.• • Guests attended ' from London, Bayfield, Sarnia ' and Hensall. • Amber Rebekah Lodge Meets • Noble Grand • Mrs. Bertha MacGregor presided for the Hensall residents may be able to connect to the sewer system now being constructed as early as October of this year according to clerk Bob Heil at Monday's regular iineeting of council. Heil continued, "If all goes well connections could begin by sometime in October and sewer and frontage charges Will be then initiated in the early part of 1977'' Charges for .,connections, frontage and sewage service have been worked out and they will .be computed on the frontages shown on Hensall's tax bills. • The frontage rate will be. 30 cents per foot per annum for atotal of 40 years. On an averaie 66 foot lot this would amount to $19.80 each year for 40 years. If a resident wishes to pay in one lump sum the prepaid rate will be $3.07 per foot or $202.62 for a 66 foot lot. The charges for connection will be $32.20 per annum for 40 years or $330 if paid in advance. Clerk Bob Heil noted that if the charges are prepaid as mentioned above here will be no further frontage or connection charges. A sewage service rate of $52.26 per annum will be levied on users of the system and will be charged where applicable as a 134 percent surcharge on the annual water rate. At the same meeting two bylaws were read to control the diSeharge of sewage into the sanitary sewers system and to regulate the use of public and private sewers and drains, private sewage disposal, the installation and.connection of building .sewers and the discharge of waters into the public sewer system. l'he W.M.S. of.' Taylor about the condition of Hensall• streets during the new sewer system installation. At Monday's regular meeting, clerk Bob Heil informed council that a 5,000 gallon tank of brine was being brought in this week in an attempt to temporarily alleviate the dust situation. ,Reeve Baker said grading would be started early next week with six inches of gravel being spread. Calcium will then be applied. Heil added, "Putting on calcium before the gravel is spread would be a waste of money." Works foreman Gary Maxwell reported that 33 tree stumps had been removed by Lorne Dale of Clinton at a total cost of $176. A resolution from the township of Hope requesting the provincial government In review assessment equalization factors was not endorsed. Mrs. Hugh Love , who has been a patient in South Huron Hospital for several weeks, returned home on Saturday, for land severance from Bill and Helen Tinney. Volland and Read letters from mission The June meeting of Unit 4 Hensall U.C.W. opened with Mrs. James McAllister reading an article from "The Upper Room" based on acts 20. Mrs. Nellie Riley gave devotional, titled "Little Things" and read verses from Psalm 8 andRmans 12. Mrs. McAllister read letters from missionaries in Brazil and India, also one from Brother Bob from Ashram. Mrs. Myrtle Sherritt gave a financial report, and Mrs. Russell Erratt reported on the packing of the bale. Unit 4 received an invitation to Chiselhurst on June 30 at 8 P.M. The next meeting on September 9 will be a pot-luck luncheon with shut-its as guests. Mrs. Pearl Shaddick and her committee served lunch at the close fo the meeting during which Miss Amy Lammie cenducted a quiz. Kippen Thornpsons surprised Correspondent Mrs. Rena Caldwell A surprise patty was held at the home of Bert and Eleanor Thompson, Kippen, who will be celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary on Jun 9th. About 35 friends, relatives and neighbours gathered Saturday evening when several games of euchre, crockinole and•pool were enjoyed. 4°,,a, Leitch was served by their children„John, MaryBeatrice and Bruce. They received many gifts. the Henson District Co-Operative. New members Rev. Doti Beck conducted the Hensall United Church service on Sunday when the celebration of the. Lord's Supper was observed and new members were received into membership. Joining the church by confirmation were Paul Norman Alexander, Jeffrey Harvey Corbett, Linda Kay Elder, Bradley John Mansfield, Stephen John McGregor, John William Laird Mickle, Julie Ann Mock and Gerald Douglas Smith., Welcomed from another church was Joan Ruth Pepper. The subject of the message given by Rev. Beck was "Put your hand in the Hand" and he spoke of Faith in God. We must give our hand to God and He must take our hand Himself, he said. The choir, led by Mrs. John'Turkheim at the organ sang the anthem, "Walk with Your God". After the service a reception was held for the new members in the Fellowship Hall. Flowers in the church were from the weddings of Katherine McEwan and Terry Gregson and Linda Keys', and Jack. Fraser. Lewis Taylor of Varna and Mrs. Al Hoggarth, of Kippen. Town visitors included Mrs. Irene Finlayson and Derek Robinson. Mrs, Gary Merritt and Gregory, Of Buckeye, Arizona are spending an extended visit with the former's ,parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl .Payne.
