On the 14th of June, -the
Dominion Convention will open in
Winnipeg. This will be a very
special convention as the Royal
Canadian Legion ,are celebrating
the 50th anniversary, From 'the
time that the Royal Canadian
Legion was formed fifty years
ago, it has steadily grown, and
now it is one of the largest
organizations in Canada. Veter-
ans have good reason to be proud
of their accomplishments through
their organization.

attended a ballet recital at
Waterloo University Auditorium

Mr. and Mrs. Jack O'Reilly
attended the Deveraux-Papaiz
wedding in Toronto and spent the
issues were discussed, and plans
for coming events during the year
were made.

sudden death of Mr. Ed Ahrens,
the oldest person in Brodhagen
who passed away in Seaforth
Community Hospital on Friday.
He is surved by his son and
daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs.
Harvey Ahrens and son-in-law
and daughter Mr. and Mrs.
Harold McNaughton and 5
grandchildren and a great grand
son.

Women's League held their meet-
ing 'in the school on Tuesday,
June 1. Mrs. Ewart Wilson
presided and opened the meeting
with the League Prayer., Spiritual,
convener, Mrs. Ray Hutchinson
read a 'poem "My Life is but, a
weaving.c Between by God and
ate."'
Organization and Membership
convener, Mrs. Joseph Van
Dooren, reported that the canvass
was completed and, there were
200 members. Mrs. Wilson
thanked all who had helped with
the canvass.
Visitors for' June will be Mrs.
Art Devereaux and Mrs. Maurice
Etue. All members were asked to
visit during July and August..
Mrs. Harry Hak and. Miss Teresa
Bauer will care for the altars
during the summer months. Right
to Life convener, Mrs. Ken,
Vincent, asked members to write
letters, expressing their opposi-
tion to abortion, to their members
pf parliament.
Mrs. Cor Dorssers •and. Teresa
Bauer were named as lunch
conveners for the coming year
and Mrs. John Lansink • and
Mrs.John 'Jansen as -sewing con-
veners for the bazaar, Members
wished to buy material and yarn
for the sewing booth and to have
thq draw tickets ready for the
September meeting. Lunch will
be served by the league at the
Grade 8 graduation party on June
23.

Ken Etue and the need for
adoption of children in impover-,.
