The students of Joanne Bode
presented a piano recital for their
parents, grandparents and
friends in the social room of
•Northside , United Church on
Monday. .At the close of the
recital, Mark McLlwain presented
a gift to Joanne on behalf of the
students. Some of them have
taken lessons from her for four
years. Refreshments were served
after the recital.

Mrs. Bob Roberts, minister, of
Egmondville United Church. She
was a former neighbor of Rev.
Roberts in Wales.
While in Canada, she has
visited Niagara, Ottawa, Goder-
ich. also New York and Chicago.
She has found Canada
extremely large and the people

Theatre comes to town
tickets, not many people would be
able to attend the theatre. To
keep tickets moderately priced,
the Playhouse seeks private and
public assistance in meeting an
annual operating deficit.
Huron County Playhouse also
receives program assistance from
local governments and recently
received a grant from the Town-
ship of Stephen., in which it is
situated.
Bill COcbrane, Huron County
Playhouse Board Chairman has
announced that the Playhouse has
received a $20,000 operating
grant from the Ontario Arts
Council. The grant is to assist the,
Playhodse in the production of its
10 week Festival of Summer
Theatre which consists of 4 plays
and 4 musical comedies. The
Playhouse season is presented at
the Playhouse in Grand Bend and
taken also to Meaford and Owen

The Playhouse production of
Anne of Green Gables is coming
to Seaforth for two perfoimances
on August 22, sponsored by the
Van Egmond Foundation.
The Ontario Arts Council grant
will help the Playhouse to meet
the difference between operating
costs and operating revenues-.
Mr. Cochrane pointed out that if
the actual costs of production
were passed on to the consumer
and were• reflected in the price of
