It was a winning week in
Seaforth as Rick MacKenzie,
Seaforth, won $500 in the
Lions Stanley Cup guess the time
of the winning koal contest.. The
winning goal for Montreal was
scored at 14 minutes and 18
seconds in the third period of the
game •• Sunday night in
Philadelphia.

Lions this week her ticket was
pulled at the monthly car chtb•

elese, In the fifth and_ sixth
innings, Dorothea's team had a
rally and pulled ahead 31 17.
Debbie's team failed to catch up
in the last inning and the final
score was 40 - 20.
The 8:30 game saw Nora
Eckert's team against Betty
Beuttenmiller's team: Betty's
team took an early lead, but by
the fourth inning the cold weather
affected Betty's team, and they
couldn't catch or stop the ball.
Asa result, Nora's team pulled
ahead by 20 runs. The game was
called in the fifth inning as Betty
was losing by over 20 runs. The
final score was 42 - 12 for Nora.
Eckert's team.
On Thursday at 7:00. a team
from Clinton came to Sea forth for
an exhibition game. The Seaforth
Ladies team was.,made up of
•Terry McNichol, Lorette Savauge,
Norah Eckert, Rose Bisback,
Marg Sills, Nancy Scott, Adeline
Mclnally, Gail Price, J oanne
Matthews and Lori Savauge.
The game was played well by
both teams. The Clinton team
took an early lead but firta!ly,
Seaforth “started hitting , and
emerged as victors. Final score
was 16 - 7.

luck was against them. They
received another penalty shot but
this time O'Reilly' hit the
crossbar.
On two other occassions, Paul
St. Columban lest their first
soccer game of the season this-
past Sunday When they were
beaten 2.1 by St. Thomas. This
game was a compelttieturn around
from the 12.0 ve.tory (over
London Oakridge) the previous
Sunday.

has finalized plans to bring the tribute to the U.S. Bicentennial.
Canadian musical Anne of Green 1776 .was to open the season, and
Gables to Seaforth. The Huron play during the July 4th week. It
Country Playhouse production of had many bookings already.
"You're a Good Man Charlie
Brown" will replace 1776 as the
American musical. This delightful
story of Lucy. Snoopy, Charlie
Brown and all the PeanutS gang
will open the season June 30 and
play to July 3. Madame
Chairman. as the Canadian
comedy offering, has been
replaced by another play by the
same author. Mr. Murphy calls
"The Mumberly Inheritance:" a
"good-time melodrama" and •
feels sure it. will. be most popular .
