There were about 450 head of but-
cher's cattle, 1,500 sheep and lambs,
and about a dozen calves offered at
the East End Abattoir to -day. The
butchers were present in consider -i
able numbers, but they were rather
careless about buying any more eat
tle, as most of them have already
more beef on hand than they will be
able to dispose of before next market
day. Prices are very low, even good
beeves bringing less money than a
week or ten days ago. A few of the
best cattle were sold at about 31e
per lb. with pretty good stock at
