April meeting of the Marian
Ritchie Evening Auxiliary of
Cromarty church with the call to
worship. "There is a green hill" ,
was sung.. Mrs. Frank Hamilton
read the Easter story from Mark
16: 1-13, followed by prayer.
For the topic, Mrs. Eldon Allen
gave three short readings: What
is. Easter:. •Ten Commandments
of Happiness, and the story of the
moving of the Church of the
Virgin Mary in Czechoslovakia.
Mrs. Carter Kerslake read "the
minutes and the roll call was
answered with an Easter verse.
Jean Carey, assisted by Mrs.
John Templeman, presented the
study book on the role played by
Canadian Christians in the
schools in Taiwan.
The meeting closed with Jesus,
Keep me near the Cross, and The
Lord's Prayer. A silent auction of
baking, sewing, and plants which
followed the meeting, realized
over thirty dollars for the group.

New officers named at Dublin WI

Chappel and Mrs. John Temple-
man were hostesses for the
annual meeting of the Staffa
Women's Institute held in • the
township hall on Wednesday
evening at. 8:30 with 14 members
present.
Mrs, Charles ' Douglas
presided, opening with the Insti-
tute Ode and Mary Stewart
Collect and a poem "A .plan for
tomorrow." • '.
During business the bus trip
with the Dublin Women's Insti-
tute was discussed and final plans
were made for the District Annual
to be held Tuesday, May IS at the
Hibbert United Church with
Staffa Women's Institute hosting.
Highlight of the meeting was
the presentation of a life member-
ship certificate and pin to Mrs.
Carter Kerslake for over 25 years
of continual membership with
Staffa W.I.
Roll call was answered by the
payment of fees • and "Did you
know?"
Officers and standing commit-
tee reports were read and
accepted and the nominating
committee presented the slate of
officers for 976-77. Miss Vera
Hambley installed the officers

Sunday morning at St. Peter's
Lutheran Church, there were two
baskets of flowers from the
funeral of Mrs. Annie Elligsen
which was held on Easter Sunday
and a basket of flowers from the
funeral of Mr. Gordon (Mike)
Hodgert which was held on.
Thursday.
Mrs. Louise Hoppeniath cele-
brated her 91st birthday April 13
and her sister Mrs. Mary Dittmer
celebrated her 88th birthday on
Thursday, April 22.

Starting in where I left off !apt
week, Seeding of spring grains gor
the most part has finished as
predicted. We received the rain •
but much more than'needed. Also
'snow over the weekend, as some
expected, with cold vAnds and
frost at night., All operations are
at a standstill. It'S a wait and see
situation, but hopefully May will
start things rolling again. -
Easter visitors had. summer
weather to display their finery,
but no one ventured out much this
past weekend, as snow and high
winds made dangerous driving
conditions. Therefore, I' have few
visitors to report. Anyway I
stayed indoors Myself.

the weekend. .

Hodgert who passed away in his
