The Chiselhurst U.C.W. met on
Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Earl
Kinsman, Hensall. Mrs. Harold
Parker, President, welcomed
everyone and opened the meeting
with an . "Easter •Poem" The
Theme Song and theme' prayer
was repeated. Nineteen members
answered the roll call by reading
continuously from the Scriptures.
Mrs. Vera Brintnell was in charge
of the worship service entitled
"The meaning of the Cross". An
invitation was received from
Alma College to send a delegation
there this summer: The treasurer
gave the financial report and the
quilting committee alto reported.
Mrs. Betty Stoneman was in
charge of the program and read a
poem on ' "Easter and
Teenagers". A slip and bloomer
sale will be held at the May
meeting, Arrangements were
made to hold a "Bake Sale" in
Hensall United Church May 2st.
It was decided to purchase a lawn
mower and Pearl Taylor and
Dorothy Brintnell will visit next
month.
Mrs, Alvin Cole was in charge
of the study and Mrs. :Roberta
Templeman introduced the
speaker, Mrs. Eaton who lives
near Staffa. Mrs. Eaton's
husband is a minister and has
-spent much time in India and
assisted during the draught
years. He also ministered at
He is now in Bangladesh
where there is another draughtHe
expects to spend several months
there before returning again to
Canada. Mrs. Eaton spoke on
their work in this land and the
many churches they worked with .
Dorothy Brintnell thanked the
speaker and presented her with a
gift. The meeting closed with
prayer and Mrs. Taylor and Mrs
Kinsman served lunch.

Sixth meeting.
The sixth meeting of the
Hensall 1 and _2 4-H Clubs was
held at the United Church on
Tuesday evening. The roll call
was "an idea for your achieve-
ment day presentation." The
Leaders demonstrated the french
knot, and Achievement Day plans
were discussed.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Holland,
Gwen and Michael , Clinton, were
• recent visitors with Mr;• and Mrs.
lames Sangster and Brad.
Mr. and Mrs. William Simpson
of- Birmingham, Mich. were
weekend visitors with Mrs. F. G.
Bonthron.
Mrs. Ralph Turner who ha.5,
been a patient in South Hur6n
Hospital Exeter, returned to her
home last week.
Rev. W D. J aryls conducted
service in Carmel Presbyterian
Church o,n Sunday and continued
his studies on the Lord's Prayer
"Lead Us Not Into Temptation".
Anniversary service will be held
on "May 16th at 11;0g. Guest
minister .Rev. Ken Innes of
Brussels.

The Sunrise Service at the
Hensall United Church was in
`charge of the Youth Group who-
conducted an inspiring message
to begin the day. Leader forn the
service was Paul Waring, A solo
"Lord of the Dance," was sung by
Gall Travers, and Joan Alexander
gave an uplifting meditation on
love, the beginning and end of
our witness for Christ and the
foundation of His message on
earth..
Following the service, over 100
people gathered in the Fellowship
Hall for bacon and egg breakfast,
served by the Youth Group and
helpers,
Easter Sunday Service at Hen-
sall United Chum was conducted
by Rev. Don Beck. He gave" the
final sermon of his series, "What
is a virtue? Faith". Faith in the
Resurrection is the foundation for
hope and love that is fhe witness
Easter is a season that inspires
music. It was therefore no great
surprise •to learn that Hensall
United Church was to render a
cantata "No Greater Love" in th'e
Easter season. That performance
took place on Monday -evening
and the only pity is that more
people .were not out to hear it.
Not that the church was eMpty by
any mean's, but there were empty
seats and each one, signified an
hour of beautiful music missed.
"No Greater Love" tells in music-,
and by narration the story of
Jesus' Temptation, the Sermon
`on the Mount, highlights of His
ministry, Palm Sunday, the Last
Supper, His agony in the Garden,
the Crucifixion and Resurtgction.:
Narrator for this inspiring
message was, Rev. Don Beck.
Soprano soloists were Miss Mary
Goodwin and Mrs. Janis Bisback.
Alto soloist was, Mrs. Belva Fuss.
Tenor soloists were Messrs. Don
Travers, Wayne Payne and Ron
Mock, and bass soloist was Mr.
Don Mock. A duet was also sung
by Belva Fuss and Wayne Payne.

and for her leadership at the
orgah.
Mark Maundy Thursday
Maundy Thursday Communion
Service was held at Hensall
United Church •with Rev. Don
Beck in charge, and with Mrs.
John Turkheim at the organ. The
meditation subject was "He ,took
a towel." This act of Jesus
signified the act of slavery' or-
complete committal to the will of
God in all that was to come. The
Communion service followed the
message.
Mrs. Inez McEWe,n attended
the Broderick-St urdevant wed-
ding in. Grand Bend United
Church on Saturday.

and family of London and Mr. and
Mrs. Felix Boogenians and family
of Burlington visited with Mrs.
Pearl Passmore over the
weekend.
Mr. Richard McCullough of ,
Birr visited with his grandmother

Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Johnston
of Brucefield visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Schwa', Mrs. Eliza-
beth Volland and Mrs. Daisy Ivey
during the Easter holiday. Mr.
Johnston has just returned from
two months-visit to Tucson from
where he' visited places in
Mexico. Other visitors were Mr.
and Mrs. Lewis Taylor of Varna,
Mr. and. Mrs. Desmond Ivey of
Sarnia who were accompanied by

visited at the weekend with her
daughter and son-in-law,,Mr. and
Mrs. Hans Gerstenkorn and

The seventh meeting of the
Hensall `2 4-H Thrifty Threaders
was held on Tuesday evening at
the United Church. The roll call,
"One place to use the French,
Knot" was answered by 11 girls.
Achievement- Day plans Were

and working on the free' choice
article were discussed and the
learning article worked on.

glorious, exciting time. Mrs. John
Ttirkehim and the choir sang the
anthem, "Hallelujah! King of
Kings". The' junior choir sang
"Allelu" wit#i soloist Scott Jesney'
and Urenda Pepper at the piano.
-Next Sunday will be Agriculture
Sunday. A bowling party for Unit
'2 is being arranged for SatOrday
evening.
