The first. meeting of a series of
Worksheps being held to draw up
a Secondary Plan for Hensall was
held at the Public. School on
,. Tuesday, April 20, with the reeve,
John Raker in the chair.
The Huron, County Plan is a
general plan 'for the whole county
and in that plan suggests that
Hensall may become a growth
area should the community desire
such `u change. A plan of Hensall
drawn up for the meeting showed
that Hensall is "bulging" at the
seams in such areas as
residential. industrial 'arid
commercial. A .Secondary Plan
would 'provide a blue print for the
future by designating future
roads, see ers, parks, industrial
areas, etc.
Roman Dz us , assistant to
County Planner Gary Davidson
gave an outline of the general
research undertaken 'for the
background of the -Secondary
Plan; specific research*Will be
detailed to later workshops. Two
types of information was used for
- this general plan, charts and
maps. These show the physical
and • economist factors to be
considered in different subject
areas. These areas are:
(a) Physiogaphy - the topOgraphy
of the land, erosion areas,
drainage and such like.
th)Characte-ristics of the people -
their concerns„ growth of. popu-,
lotion trends, age 'groups all of

At the discu,ssion the following
points were brought . out. The
present structure is a -mixture of
factors - it mast be determined in
each area which factor is most
important and allow that use to
take over the area. No one will be
forced to change their property
