education has announced several
changes in. principals and vice-
principals ' in this ' area.
Don Tremeer, who was acting
principal of Blyth Public School
since the' ,51-6.1h of Mrs. Margaret
Michie, becomes the new vice-
principal at Clinton Public Scheol.
Bill Million, who is vice-
pOncipal at Clinton, becomes
vice-principal at Hullett Central
School, and Bill Black, who was
on a year's sabbatical leave,
becomes the new principal at
Blyth.

presided fpr business. The
meeting opened.with• the Institute
Ode and the - Mary Stewart
Collect. Mrs. Lloyd Balrantyne,
Sec.-Treas. called the roll, read
the minutes and also gave -the
financial statement.
The 1976 F.W.I.O. officer's
conference will be held May .4, 5,
6 at the University of Waterloo.
The District Annual meeting
will be held May 20 at Crediton
Community Hall. It was decided
dinner would be potluck. All
Institutes were reminded that the
week of May 30 to. June 4 is
Institute week. The Erland Lee
home will be open for visits at this
time.
It was voted that Mrs. Arthur
Rundle , Tweedsmuir History
Curator purchase a new book.
The Fall Rally will be in
Dashwood Community Hall on
October 4. The Rally is
celebrating its 25th anniversary
this year.,
The Area Convention is to be
held in.lillsonburg. The. branch
presidents adjourned for a short
meeting."'
A disappearing act
Tiny organisms are taking. the
punch out of some pest ..control
chemicals.
Called actinomycete, the
organisms cost farmers money by
breaking down chemicals in the
soil before they can combat insect
attacks. A pesticide chemist at
the Agriculture Canada
Vancouver, B.C., Research
Station is studying this problem
of ultra-rapid chemical
degradation.

presented to the Noble Grand,

It was announced the District
Church service will be held at
Varna church on May 2nd at 10:15
a.m. Members to meet at the
Township Hall at 9:45 a.m. to
parade to the church. An
invitation was received to a
"Dessert Euchre" to be held in
Huronic Lodge, Clinton on April
30 at 1:30 p.m. and also to the
Legion Hall,Goderich, May 12th,
at 1:30 p.m. sponsored by
Goderich Rebekah Lodge.

and finance committee; the
Treasurer, Mrs. Dorothy Corbett
gave a report of the financial

will attend the District meeting in ,
MacKay Hall, Goderich, April
14th at 2:30 p.m. and present a
number on the program.
