A very special thank you to Dr. Underwood, Dr. Whitman and Dr. Malkus, the nursing- staff, x-ray ,department, the kitchen staff, Hospital Auxiliary, Anglican Church ladies, °Legion ladies Auxiliary, and anybody else who helped to make my stay comfortable through little acts of -kindnesses.' Payne Unit 4 of Fiensaii U.C.W. met Thursday afternoon with' Mrs. James McAllister presiding. She opened the meeting by reading a few lines concerning Lent. Twenty-two members answered the roll call. Mrs. L. Purdy gave the devotional based on trhe biblical story of Easter and Mrs. Laird Mickl'e played two piano numbers, "Bless • this House" and "How great Thou art". The topic was taken by Mrs. R. Peck 4" who spoke on Tanzania, ernPhasizing the progress the country has made since becoming independent. Mrs. T. Sherritt •gave the financial report and 'Mrs. Harry Caldwell reminded us of the Bar-B-Q supper on May 26 and the ChurchChoir Cantata on April 12. The , meeting ended with the singing of "Rejoice the Lord is King" followed by prayer. Lunch was served by Mrs. Inez McEwen and her committee. the BRAVE BEARD GROWERS — 28 members of the congregation of Brucefield United Church have been growing beards since January 1 and Thursday was their big night as their attempts were judged at a pot luck supper. It was all part of the CLASSIFI 24 Cards of Thanks 26 Personal 28 Deaths local church's 100th Anniversary this year. Saturday, April 10. 28-39-1 Hensall The service at Hensall United Church for Passion Sunday was conducted by Rev. Don Beck with Mrs. John Turkheim at the 'organ. The, choir sang the anthem, "Praise the Lord, Ye Heavens, Adore Him" and the sermon was #5 in the series, "What is a virtue?" Hope. Hope is, the Christian's privilege as it is linked to trust, faith and truth. On April 12 the choir will present the Easter Cantata, "No Greater Love" in the Church.
