Farmers on the west end of
Cromarty line were the first in
this area' to receive electricity
following Tuesday's ice storm.
Hydro was restored at suppertime
on Thursday after being off forty
hours. Residents in the village
and east of it lost their hydr
around ten o'clock on Tue'sday
night and were without until eight
p.m. on Saturday, while many of
the people on the twelfth of
Hibbert were still waiting on
Sunday night.
Needless to say, the few
generators in the community
were kept extremely busy.
Compkations( also arose when
the high water Leval caused cellar
drains to back up. pouring the
water into some. cellars as fast as
it could be pumped out.

Mrs.Thomas Sgott at Kilbarchan
Nursing Home, Seaforth, on the
occasion of her 95th birthday. On
Sunday they visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Reg. Finlayson and Mike,
Staffa.
Birthday congratulations are
extended toMrs. Thomas Scott of
Kilbarchan Nursing, Home,
Seafc, rth. Mrs. Scott, the former
Sarah (Sadie) McKellar, was born
at Cromarty on March 5, 1881.
Besides her two sons, Gordon,
-Cromarty, and Jim. Mitchell,
Mrs. Scott has one brother,
Lindsay McKellar, Seaforth and
two sisters, Mrs. Elmer
Colquhoun, '(Belle), Clinton, and
'Mrs. Horton McDougall,lAgnes),
Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich.
There are also eight grand
children and 14 great-grandchild-
ren.
Lorraine Laing, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Laing, was
guest of honour at a community
bridal shower on Saturday
ex ening.Debbie Rennie was
chairlady for a short programme
including two contests, Places in
Perth, and Magazine Talk; a
sing-song, led by Muriel Scott
with Carol Scott at the piano; and
two solos by Ruth McPhail
aefompanied by her guitar.
Pam Wallace read an address
of good wishes and the bride was
assisted in opening her gifts. by
Pam and Margaret Laino.
