students met at the curling arena
for a day of fun, excitement and
good sportsmanship. Teams were
picked and the games of one hour
each started at 9:00 a.m. and
ended at 3:00 p.m.
The teams are as follows: John

first with 34% pts.

meeting last week.
Dave Smith, president, opened
the meeting. Pat Connoly is n ow
second vice-president. Dave
Smith, former vice-president, was
moved up to President after Anna
Lee Stevenson, former president,
was unable to continue.
The formal will be on April 23.

suggestions had been received so
it was decided that this had to be
decided 'immediately.
Jo Ann Primeau motioned that
tickets' cost $7.00 per couple.
Vanda Storey seconded this
motion. It was discussed and
carried. Music will be playing
while the band is taking 'breaks.
It was decided that a lounge
work bee be held right away.
The February dance will be
held February 27 with ' North"
playing.
Dave Smith adjourned the
meeting.
S.D.H. S. Student Council
sponsored a dance last week. It
was held last Friday night in the
school gym with the band
"North": playing. Tickets were
two dollars with student card and
two dollars and fifty cents
without. Dancing was from 9 • 12.
There wasn't a very big crowd
probably because of the number
of other dances that were held
Friday night.
Typing Contest Finalists
The final type-off of the annual
typing eontest is over and the
finalists have been chosen. They
are Maureen Delaney 'with
sixty-six words per minute, Chris
Carter with sixty-two words per
minute, Donna Reid with..sixtY,Six_
words per minute and Ann Albert
with fifty-seven words per
minute.
This year' sSDFIS bowling
team has been picked. Members
are as follows: Girls team - Susan•
Kunder, Karen Munro, Mary
Helen Munro, Deanna Nobel and
Cheryl Seymour. The boy's team
is as follows: Neil Beuerman,
Murray Bennewies, John Cairns,

Board of Education trustees will
be held at the board. offices in
Clinton on March 17.
Saturday, the gym at the high
school was a beehive of activity
when the first annual Br. 156
R.C.L. Midget boys basketball
tournament was held, Teams
from Clinton, Palxhill, St.
Thomas and our own high school
took wt.
The tournament was not set up
in an ordinary consolation
Manner. Emphasis was off
winning Ability, appearance
and attitude then was the basis
for determining a winner.
The final 7:30 game decided
the tournament as, both Seaforth
and Parkhill (North Middlesex)
were 2 - 0 and within 10 points of

Don Melady, a leval four honour
student at S.D.H.S: Don is the
seventeen year old son of Mr. and
Mrs. Edward Melady.'He lives at
' R.R.#2, Dublin. His birthday is
April 30. •
Don is active in many school,
and community activities.
Presently he is directing a play for
the Junior Farmers. It' is going
well he says. The play • is
supposed to be entered in a
JUnior Farmer Drama festival.-.
Don is interested in JUnior
Farmers and is an active
member.

Twenty-four 'Ontario young
people will leave Toronto, July 3
for a three-week,visit to France,
This year the program includes
visits to Paris, Dijon, Lyon,
Avignon and Aix en Provence,
During the visit they will be able
to observe first hand the cultural,
economic and political aspects of
French life and will visit many of
the famous institutions in the
centres. While in France they will
be the guests of the French
government.
To be eligible, candidates must
be between 18 and 25 years of
age, possess a working
knowledge of spoken French and
be active in ;the affairs of their
community.Candidates will be
selected from all over Ontario and
from various fields including
academic, business, commerce,
technical and agricultural: •
In August 24 French youths will
visit Ontario as part of the
exchange program.
Interested candidates should
write to the Educational
Exchange Program, Ministry of
Education, 19th floor, Mowat
Block, Queen's Park, Toronto
M7A 1L2 for application forms.
The completed forms should be
returned to this address no later
than April 1st, 1976.

boys would lock up the tourna-
ment victory.
Earlier this year Parkhill
defeated Se of orth 25 - 21 .
Saturday however the local team
was not ready to accept defeat.
Every -team member contributed
in a 48-36 victory.
The Legion should be
congratulated for their support in
sponsoring this tournament,
SDHS physed teacher' Terry
lohnston said.
They provided the trophies and
supper for the visiting teams. The
visiting teams were very high in
their praise for the support shown
by the local legion. On their
behalf the Seaforth team is proud
to be inscribed as the first
winners of the Br. 156 R.C.L.
