ance -Company, celebrating its
100th anniversary this year, had a
good year in 1975, policy holders
heard a,t the 'company's annual
meeting Friday.
McKillop president Stanley
McLlwain, Who wasre-elected for
a second term said assets are up
more than $130,000 this year from
1974. For the second year, losses
are also down. McKillop paid out
$45,072 in claims to policy holders
in 1975, down from $69,240 'in
1974.
After liabilities of $84,295 were
dedtieted, the company was left
with a surplus of $487,019. Net
gaid for the year after claims and
expenses were paid was $114,599,
campared to a net gain of $71,599
in 1974.
Insurance in force climbed by
more than $4 million over the
year„ to $53,421,988 at the end of
December, 1975, more than 100
times the .amount• that was in
force in tary 1877, when
McKillop giVe its first annual,
report.

Mutual formed in March 1876,\
had $160,000 in insuranceiteforce
in June. 1876. the company-
had its first foss by JanuarY,'1877,'
nearly a year, after it was

had 400 members and $462,545 of
insurance, written.
Retiring directors Donald
McKercher, Lavern G:o.clkin and
Ross Leonhardt were all
re-elected. Kenneth 'Carnochan,
R.R.4, --.Seaforth was re-elected
vice-president. Mrs. Margaret
Sharp is the insurance company's
secretary-treasurer, the seventh
in 100 years.
