will be extended by the purchase
Monday night of a house and lot
by the Huron-Perth County
Roman Catholic Separate School
Board. The property located at
233 Queen Street, Stratford, cost
the board $20,000.
Sahry negotiations with the
teachers for 1976-77 -will • be
started on Wednesday , „February ,
11. The teachers' present contract
expires in August?

renewed with the Huron-Perth

Opposition foreq it to be.
Over the years, Standing and
Select Committees of the Legisla-
ture have handled an increasing
amount of legislative work, and
MPPs spend many .hours serving
on these Committees. Standing
Committees relate very closely to
the day-to-day work of the
Legislature, while Select Commit
ttees are appointed to investigate
and study specific subjects, such
as the Utilization of Eductional
Facilities, -Company Law, Con-
sumer Credit, etc. At this time. a
Select Committee isenquiring into
Hydro's proposed •bulk power
rates.
The Camp Commission expres-
sed the opinion that "major steps
are• necessary in order to free the
Member for more time add
attention to be given to legislative
duties", and "it seems clear from
views expressed on the executive
side that sessions are going to
lengthen rather than shorten,tha
there will be more not less
committee work". The irhplemen-
tation of• the various recommen
dations of the Commission, inclu-
ding the•establishment of Consti-
tuency Offices, are certainly a
step in the right direction.
