Curling and cress country skiing are just two of the items on the teaching agenda for this term. Becausc.of the number of days fy skiirig of school that have been missed because of the winter weather, the classes '''''''' only had 'one class each of both sports. 'Before they could start their cross' country, they had to prepare the skiis by pinetarring and waxing them, SDHS Welcomes a new student 'to level three. Her name is Judy Nixon. She is the daughter of John and June Nixon who have recently moved near Brussels from "foronto . 'Judy is seventeen' years old. She has—three older sisters and one twin brother who also attends, • SDHS. •Her hobbies are cooking, swimming, dancing, music and •rollerskating. In Judy's' former school she won several awards for her outstanding ability in the sport of shOt put. • Judy's favourite subject is' believe it or not, shop. Shp is the onlygirl in SDHS who takes shop~ When asked if she folind much prejudice from the , guys in the class, Judy said yes. A lot of them don't believe she. is capable of achieving what the teacher asks. In her school in Toronto, there were several girls in her shop class. As for the future, Judy wants to be a chef. She enjoys cooking arid is good at it.
