speaker. He brought copies of the
bylaWs and maps indicating the
site of the prOPosed sewers now
under . construction. Mr. Heil
discussed the new water rates
and answered a variety , of
questions.
Joyce Pepper gave a report of
the 4-H achievement day held at
Brucefield school. nelve girls
belonging to the Kneaded Seven
and Doug h.)os received a certifi-
cate of completion. The new
leaders of the next project will be
Joyce Pepper, Bev Moir and
Chery Riley. The meeting closed
in the regular way.

Hensall council approved a
small subdivision of single family
homes at a special meeting
Monday, night. George Andel-
• finger of London plans to build
homes on 12 • lots in a
development , just north of the
Bendix 2 plant.
Mr. Andelfinger's land, north
of Oxford St. and west of
Elizabeth St. is made up of two
blocks on Hens present
registered plan and approval to
divide it into 12 will have to come
from Huron County's land

in University Hospital in London,

lor's didn't disagree with his plan

Clinton Hospital, have returned
to their homes. We sincerely wish
them improved health.
Mrs. '6 Robert Webster
entertained a number of-Julie's
friends at a birthday party on
Saturday. Julie was seven on
Thursday.
The generosity of neighbours
and farm friends was evident
during last week's stormy
weather, when several driveways
and walks were cleaned out by
people with scrapers or snow-
blowers, and some with shovels.

discussed. Mrs. N. Sillery said'
that she thought people Were
disappointed' that Brucefield
Church didn't have a barheque
-last year. It was decided to.have a
penny contest.

A motion was made to order 300

sell at 50c. .

January 14,

re-elected president. The board
consists of Ross Scott, John

McAsh, Wilfred Chuter and Aldie •
Mustard. Aldie Mustard was
elected secretary treasurer, Mrs.,
Ruth Taylor having resigned. Mr.
and Mrs. Adam Wilson and Arie
Verholf caretakers, have
resigned.

The council will seek tenders on
a renovation of the second floor of
the town hall. They were
approached recently by a Hensall
firm, Wright-Grant Ltd1, about
renting office space in the
building.
In order to convert the area to
office,space false walls would
have p be put up and ceilings
dropped. Clerk Heil estimated the
-cost at $6,000 to $8,000'and said
council hoped to recover the cost
in • three years of,' renting the
space.
If the costs-2f renovating seem -
too khigh er tenders are in,
council will drop the project, the
clerk said..
Couricillors considered a report
of the village's storm sewers ,by
Goderich engineer. Barns Ross.
Hensall', stprm sewers aren't
adequate, but councillors decided:
they n eed to talk to Mr. Ross to
discuss his report. A meeting was
scheduled for January 27 with
Mr. Ross and Huron Minty
planners.
There will be a .meeting of the
Hensall Minor Athletic Associa-
tion in the Hensall Arena at 8
P.M. on Tuesday, February 10.
Obituary
DANIEL G. CAMERON
Daniel G. Cameron passed
away in University Hospital,
London on Tuesday, January 13th
1976 in his, 28th year. Formerly'of
Hensall, he was the son of W.J.
(Doc) and Jessie Cameron, lien-
sall. Surviving besides his
parents are two sisters, Mrs. G.
(Betty) Osbitsch, London, Mrs.
.Barry (Chris) Morlock, Crediton,
brother Bill, London, and grand-
parents ' Mr. and Mrs. W.Rees,
Hamilton.
Funeral service was held at the
Bonthron Funeral Chapel on
Friday, January 16th at 2p.m.
with Rev. W.D. Jarvis officiating.
Cremation fo),Iewed with burial at
Maitland Cemetery, Seaforth,
Mr. Ed ,Corbett was taken to
Victoria Hospital, London by
ambulance on' Saturday.
Rev. W.D. Jarvis conducted
worship service in Carmel Presb-
yterian Church on Sunday. The
annual congregational meeting
will be held January: 30th,
Mrs. Margaret Ingram is a
patient in South Huron Hospital
Exeter where she is receiving
treatment.

meeting of the NeW Year at the
church Jan. 13 with a pot kiek"
dinner. Owing to the stormy
weather only 25 members and
guests turned out.
Rev. Stevens conducted the
installation of the new officers.

The Hensall Women's Institute
met Wednesday evening. January
14, 1976. The meeting opened in
the usual fashion. Mrs. Jessie
McAllister standing in for
President Hilda Payne, who is
holidaying, greeted eyeryone.The
Unit 1 of Hensall U.C.W. met
January 8th with Anita Cook
presiding. She read "We pause
beside the untrod year", followed
by prayer. Belva Fuss ., was the
pianist.
The president continued her
new year theme by using .an
article written by Rev. D.' Bruce
Johnston , United Church in
Saskatoon. Mr. Johnston said he
had tried to help a man who
having confessed all his sins, felt
he still had problems and needed
more help. The minister
suggested what to do, and also
explained that the New Year is a
good time to make new
resolutions. It's like spring
cleaning and gives us 'another
opportunity to right our wrong
habits, he said. •
The group read Psalm 51 in
unison, and Anita read the New
Year Litany prayer followed by
silent prayers for sick and
mourning. The offering was given
and dedicated. Meniberships
and the money for the foster child
were paid. Hymn "Glory to God
the Father" was sung. •
Doreen Spencer introduced the
study this year about Tanzania,
Cuba, Chile and Canada. Doreen,
chose Tanzania - Peoples and
Systems, which includes.
education, health, religion, works
and role and status of women,.
She gave interesting and detailed,
outli ne on the educational
system, which has been greatly
improVed since their
independence in 1961. They have
