the. Godericti_ Psychiatric Hospital,
But-most of the critiCisiri focus ed

The *Psychiatric Hospital does
employ ,a large number' of County
people and they should not lose their
jobs but stressing this gives, the
wrong -emphasis to the provinces
decision.
It encourages • Us to look at a
psychiatric hospital at just 'another

when I come in • through the Emergency
Dept. I am always treated with respect and
courtesy , whether I am as,an out patient or

The food and patient care' in this hosPital
is the best diet I've ever seen, been in
, nine other large Ori -medium sin hospitais
and as you can appreciate, they are run Tike
machine and are very irapersonal. Being
in Seaforth Hospital is 'like being at' home
• one big hopy family (except the 1%

The liquor store delivery truck stopped for a
red Aight a block from the Richer's ,
house. L.C.O., struck again. He jumped en
the hood, pointed his fey pistol through the
windshield and yelled, "This is n Highjack!"
krAnd before the light turned green, the
Richer family cancelled their Christeias party.
The Poorer family always counted on
Chrisimas turkey, dreSsing, cranberry sauce
and pumpkin 'pie with whipped cream.
The Do-Good-Society got the Poorer
family's name 'from the welfare rolls. Like'
other years the .1)o-Gooders, decided to dO
good agtitip this year.'-• ,
But We L.C.O. hitchhiked out to t' he cOuntry
tO the Th omas Turkey F arm. He oPened the
coop cages and told them "Hurry" and -the
turkeys silently escaped down intp Hidden
Valley.
And the poorer family ate' bean seuT) for
Christmas dinner.
A smile -Came ewer L.C,O.'s face. His job
was done. The Fuller family cried, "What's
Christmas withoUt gifts?" ,
The Richer family fried, "What's
, Christmas withoUt a party?"
The PoOrer family cried, "What's
Christmee without a -turkey?"
The Little Christmas Outlaw turned himself
in at midnight:He kept that wide grin over hiS
face. He'd done it again. He'd strutk once -
again at Christmas..
He set three families thinking and asking,
"What's Cliristraas? What's Christmas all
abeut?" ,

This Hospital was built in 1965 but for 10
years there was no ramp at the Emergency
'Dept. for people in wheelchairs to enter
this Dept. Access is vital- to us. so that we,
kB an lead an independent life. '
In ihe spring of 1975. I personally
installed a good serviceable concrete ramp
„it my own expense and donated,. it to the
hospital, and never so much as got a, leiter
thanks frbm the. hospital board. This
does not concern me, since I have received
many; many complintents from the old and

At the emergency-entrance area there. is
parking fo'f„the do& orS,` which is essential -
but the balance of the parking spades art
all reserved for hosPrial employees. In my
opinion this shOuld ,he changed-as sooti as
possible and the spaces Oceupied by the
employeeS should be\ reserved
for emergency cases, the old , and the
disabled;

The elections ref councillors in this Township of MeKiHop,
created considerable interest.' In W Ard 2.—John -Malone-was
elected by a majority of 42 over Mr. Bell; In W ard 3, Alex
Kerr was elected by a majority of 3 over Mr, -Morrison and in
W ard 4, Wm, Grieve secered a majority of 27 .over Mr.
McClure.
At a meeting at the schoolhouse No. 2, Tuckersmith, a
,grange in connection with the Patrons of Husbandry was

The concert given by the 33rd regiment band in 'Cardno's
hall on New ,Year's night was a most decided success. Miss
Grace McFall' was in excellent voice and the solos by

°songs brought down the heti-W. Miss Lula Best made her
debdt as an elccutionist, An address was made by Col, Alex
Wilson. . ,
The Scotch concert given by Miss Lita Cole at Staff was ,an
entire success. .
