up Friday October 31 at 'Municipal Clerks' offices,
except .for the townships of Ashfield, Colborne,
Goderich and the Town of Goderich where they may be
picked up at the Social Services office.

for C.A.R. S. - proceeds for
research and education for a cure
for arthritis at Seaforth Arena on
Saturday. Tickets available from
Don MacRae, Dublin and other
members,. (see ad in this paper).
Each year arthritis robs
workers in Ontario of millions of
dollars in lost wages. Many are
confined to a bed or wheelchair.
Arthritis is a se rious problem,
yet Canada is recognized .as a
leader in the program to control
arthritis. In order to maintain
thatposition' the arthritis society
needs money for research and
education.
Dr. Little, Director of
Professional Education for the
Arthritis Society emphasizea _that
early diagnosis and prompt
treatment by a doctor can prevent
crippling in four out of five cases
and .says that we are getting
closer to a cure for the disease
through greater knowledge and
research.

A large crowd was present at
the Kirkton-Woodham
Community ' Centre on -
Wednesday evening. October 22,
for the Chappel benefit 'dance. .
Jack and Gerry, who recently lost
their home by fire; thanked those
in attendance
The organizers for the event
thanked the Nelson Howe and -
Murray Christie Orchestras for
kindly donating their services for
the evening.
The presentation of
an evelope of money was made by
Robert Drummond and the
evening concluded with a
smorgasbord lunch.
Mr. and Mrs. -Barry Oliver and
family, New, Hamburg, visited
TAday with Mr. and mrs. John
Miller and family.
Barbara Templeman celebrated
her 10th birthday on Friday.

A miscellaneous shower was
held in Bornholm Hall on Sunday
for Donna Leonhardt.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Ahrens
attended the baptism of their
granddaughter, ..Melanie Jayne,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton
AhrenS and sister Elizabeth of
Burlington on Sunday at Holy
Cross Lutheran Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Wolfe
accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
Wolfe, Clinton, to the service of
dedication of the Pentecostal
Tabernacle, Kennedy Road, on
Sunday morning. There -were
three services, morning,
afternoon and evening.The entire
2500 seats were occupied for each
service. Pastor Ron Stevens
commenced services there ,15
years ago and had 17 members.
Sunday morning there were over
500 children attending Sunday
School. Some of the participants
were Hon. William Davis,
Premier of Ontario; Rev.
H. D. Honsinger, Supt. of the
Western Ontario District of the
Pentecostal Assemblies - of
Canada. Rev. Rex Humbard gave
the sermon —of .dedication and
Maude Amee sang' the solo, "He
Touched Me". On t'he way home
from-Brampton the Wolfes called
on Mi. and Mrs. John Hinz, Sr.,
Kitchener.
Beautiful flowers on the altar of
St. Peter's Lutheran Church from
the Machan-Leonhardt• wedding
on Friday evening. Pastor/Horst
officiated at the ceremony.
Congratulations to the young
couple.
It is good to see Mr. Robert
French getting around much
better after fracturing his foot.
We are all glad he is able to ring
the church. bells again at St.
Peter's. •
Miss Wendy' Bechtel,
Kitchener, was honored with a
miscellaneous shower at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Al
Leonhardt Wednesday evening.
She and her fiance have
purchased the home of the late
'Mrs.' Lena Elligson.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Brown,
Melbourne, were weekend guests
of the former's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. William Brown.
We wish Mr. Edward
Scherbarth, Sr. and Mr. Edward
Sch*rbarth, Jr. speedy recoveries
during their stay in Seaforth and
Stratford Hospitals respectively..

at Ritz Villa with old friends,

Harvey who was absent for a time

Hospital following a hip'. fracture..
Mrs. Clarence Regele returned
home Saturday night after a
three-weeks visit in Manitoba.
Going by train she spent the first
week with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Eisler. Kenora, later going to the
homes of Mr. and Mrs. r Fred
Eisler and family and Mrs. Jar.
Eisler, also with nephews and
nieces. She also visited old school
chums in SouriS, Man. Mrs.
Regele said they had a good
snowfall out west. She camehome

peare, spent some time with her
son-in-law, Mr. Ralph Fischer
and family, Walton, while Mrs.
Fischer is remaining for another
week with her sister, Mrs.

Shakespeare and Mr. Ralkph
Fischer, Walton, flew to New
Jersey on Saturday to visit Mr.
and Mrs. George Quincey and
David.
Mrs. Micky McCloy, Stratford,
spent the weekend with Lori, Gay
and Mark Fischer, Walton.
Mrs. Ralph Fischer is still in
New Jersey where she has been
for the past three weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Wolfe
received the sad news of the
sudden death of Robert Byers, 43,
of Kitchener. He leaves his wife,
one son and three daughters. He
formerly resided on the 12th'con.
of Logan Township with his
parents. After his mother's
sudden death the family moved to
Kitchener. Sincere sympathy to
.this wife and family.
We are pleased' that Mr.
William Brown has been able to
resume his work at Dickison
Industries after being ill.

The local ladies are back at the
card table on Wednesday
afternoons. Mrs. Peter Maloney
Sr. hosted the game last week -
'' the results are sometimes hard to
find out , especially if One asks a
loser. However the winners Mrs.
Rose Stapleton, Mrs. Mary
Maloney and Mrs. Melve Murray
defeated Mrs. Cotilda Maloney,
Mrs. Tessie Costello, Mrs.
Elizabeth Connolly. The club is
looking for a new name and a
decisiqn could' be reached this
Wednesday.
The new storm drain on John

Tim Templeman returned to
England Saturday evening after,
visiting with relatives.for the past
three weeks. He, along with Mr.
and Mrs. John Templeman and
Geraldine -were Saturday evening
dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Reg. Templeman, Brampton, the
latter spending the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. David Capling,
Mississauga.

should prevent• further
,inconvenience on this street. The
project is a j oint effort between.
the Police Village of Dubli n and
Hibbert Township under the
direction of Road Superintendent,
Ed. Chappel.
Sidewalks on Raglan Street
have Peen completed by M. & M.
Construction of Dublin. The
• sidewalk was badly needed and
the next thing that could be hoped
for would be that citizens would •
keep them swept off. Of course
this applies ,to any sidewalk in
town.
The other storm drain has been
extended to the Li ffy River from
`the Huron Perth Roman Catholic
Separate School Board offices via
Helen Street. This was a
combined project of Perth
County, Hibbert Township and .
Police Village of Dublin.

George Quincey, who is still in St.
Michael's Hospital, Newark, N.J.
Joyce is also with Mr. Quincey
and David at their home there.
The Chamber of Commerce
opened their fall season with a
bountiful dinner served by the
lady caterers. Atiangements
were made for the annual turkey
draw next month.
We are glad to hear Mr. Arthur
Priestap is home again from the
hospital. where he underwent
surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Wolfe
went to Midland for the
Thanksgiving weekend where
they visited the Shrine. They also
spent several days with Mr. and
Mrs. Ray Tiffin at their cottage at
Big Bay Point on Lake Simcoe,
near! Barrie. The color of the
leaves wa's beautiful there and the
.weather was perfect. On the way
home they stopped off for dinner
with Mr. and Mrs. Lou Hicks,
both being well again. They also
visited Ralph and Doreen Hicks
and Cherry Boltin. The Hicks are
former Brodhagen residents.
There were five greatTrand-
parents at ,the baptism of little
Jennifer Hoegy.
Miss Caroline Martin, Toronto,
spent a few days ' over 'the
Thanksgiving weekend with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. William
Martin.
