One used car in the Main St. N. Lot had its back windshield smashed. Wright manager Bill Williams said 15 new tires were punctured with something like an, ice pick, upholstery and vinyl roofs slashed and rotten tomatoes thrown into several vehicles. (Staff Photo) NO SERIOUS INJURIES — There were no serious injuries last Wednesday night in' this car-truck collision on Highway 8, Just west of Dublin, near Hibbert Sidedroad 20. The car, driven by Darlene Moore of Stratford was westbouond and signalled for a right turn. According to OPP dispatcher Dave Minhinick' of Sebringville, the Moore vehicle then went to the north side of the road and made'a • left turn to the'south. The stack was isolated with no electric wires nearby and Mr. MeNairn felt there was no way the fire could have started by itself. There was a fairly heavy rain still falling as Seaforth Fireman fought the blaze and Mr. McNairn said the bales' covering was wet, in spite of the fire. He couldn't estimate damage in dollars but said a steel granery near the hay had been scorched, "It'll have to be repainted now or it will rust," he said and added that there is no way of knowing yet whether the scorching had U.C.W.Thankoffering was held Oct. 22 with a good attendance. (By Bev Clark) A request for immediate action was sent to the Huron-Perth Separate school board by St. Mary's school in Goderich. The request was presented to the Board at their meeting, held last Monday night, October 27, in Dublin. requested that the board ask the Town of Goderich to consider\-- installing side-walks along Ben- nett Street frrom St. Mary's School to Huron Road; that there be an extension of side-walks on Bay- field Road to the intersection of Bennett Street; and that traffic light be installed at the interesec- tioni of Hayfield Road and Bennett Streets. The board agreed to write a letter to the Goderich Town Council asking if Council has given any consideration tome points. St. Joseph's School in Stra ord also requested that the board inform the Stratfor&Traffic Com- mi§sion of its concern .for" the safety of the children and request the provision of a sidewalk along the west side of St. Vincent Street from West Gore Street to Patricia Road. The board agreed to inform the Stratford Traffic Commission of its concern, immediately. The Stratford,. area World Aid committee requested that the separate school board allow Pos- ters to be hung in their schools advertising a roll-a-thon to raise money, for the town of Pablito in Costa Rica. John Vintar, director of educa- tion said he felt this -was a worthwhile project and "I would recommend this motion be passed." The board approved the adver- tising and posting of posters in -their schools. In further business, a motion was moved by John O'Drowsky and seconded by Vince Young for the board to consider hiring a part-time, at least half-time family life co-ordinator. After much discussion as to whether this program would run into conflict with religion classes, it was agreed that the two programs Religion and Family Life should be kept separate as they are oFii" separate and distinct programs. A few weeks ago the girls in the band received an invitation to play in Florida next February and ever since have been busy checking into details And gaining necessary approval from school officials and parents. The girls are invited to be the Only Canadian band to play in the Th omas Edison Pageant of Lights parade in Fort Myers, Florida. Every year the organizers of the third largest parade in the state ask one Ontario band to represent Edison's association with Ontario. Now the invitation has been accepted Mr. Hildebrand said and transportation is being investigated. According to Mr. Hildebrand and SDHS principal Bruce Shaw a preliminary check indicates that a trip by air may be, a bit less costly than by bus.
