As well as relatives and former neighbours, guests included Helen Houghton and Mr. and Mrs. John Saunders of Windsor. On Saturday night, open house was held at Russeldale Hall with the Silvertones providing music for' dancing. Lunch and a social hour followed. The McCullochs were pleasantly surprised on Sat- urday afternoon when a good friend, Mrs. Alvin Bayley of Vancouver, arrived to help them celebrate. Mrs. McCulloch was the former Jessie Graham and the couple were married at the Cromarty • Manse by the Rev. David Ritchie. Theirs was the last wedding performed on the Cromarty-Roys Correspondent Mrs. Bill Chessell There were many visitors, and former members present for the Anniversary Services of Varna United Church on Sunday. Rev'. J. Ostreicher of Clinton was the guest preacher at the morning service.Scripture was from John 12: 26 - 32. In his sermon "What Kind of Church do You Want?" he suggested that friendship, faithfulness and involvement were the most important qualities. Special music was provided by the Selwood Gospel Singers of Toronto, Hamilton and ' Guelph. In the evening the Selwoods presented a concert of sacred music. Mr. and Mrs. Alistair Taylor of Willowdale spent the weekend with Rev. and Mrs. Alex Taylor. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Chessell during the week-end were Mr. and Mrs.Frank Dods, Mr. and Mrs.Ted 'Hoyle, Mr. Warren Graff and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Chessell and Charles, all of Stratford. On Saturday morning, the Chessells attended a euchre party in Mitchell honouring Mr. and Mrs. Ken Smith of Bornholm on their silver Wedding Anniversary. Guests with Mr. and Mrs. Doug McAsh on Sunday were Brian and Judy Round, members of the Selwood Gospel Singers. Sunday visitors with Mrs. Ida McClinchey were Reid andKathy Selwood, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McClinchey and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Soper. pastoral charge. The attendants were the groom's sister Lila, Mrs. Calder McKaig, and the bride's brother, Sterling Graham. Fol- lowing the wedding, a reception was held at the home of the brides parents. The couple lived for 19 years in Cromarty, then moved to a farm 31/2 miles east of the village where they lived and farmed until retiring to Cromarty six years ago: Their family consists of three daughters; Jean, Mrs. Ken Davey of London; Mary, Mrs. Bill Baxter, of Mitchell; and Helen, Mrs. Bob Waddell, of Guelph. There are eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Greetings were received from the Governor-General,'Bill Jarvis, M.P. Hugh Edighoffer, M.L.A., Premier Davis, as well as a provincial plaque. In the championship ball game for the Ross Scott Trophy, Colborne 'Junior Boys defeated the Stanley t eam 18 ' - 16 at Benmiller. Mrs. Elizabeth Volland, aged 91, was one of Hensall's Senior Citizens who voted at the election lasts Thursday. With her was her daughter, Mrs. Irene Finlkyson, Mrs. Volland has resided in Hensall for the past nine years but this iS the first time she has voted since losing her eyesight. The roll call "Name a Favourite recipe made with a dairy product was answered by thirteen members and there were two visitors. Grace Dummond commented on the motto "The farm is the food factory of the Nation - Let's keep the Assembly Line Rolling". Mary Broadfoot gave current events and Margaret Hoggarth conducted 'two 'contests. The fall Rally will be held in Belgrave October 6 and the Area Convention will be in St. Thomas Oct. 15 and 16. , Leaders for the club "Baking with Yeast" will be Mrs. L.
