Society reserves right to award monies not taken up in one section to other- classes, providing entries merit prizes. 2. Articles for competition in indoor departments to be in showroom-before 12 o'clock noon on the first day of the exhbition. Sept. 18 and properly located in their own departments, and all stock and eggs to be on the grounds by 11:30 o'clock a.m. of the second day. September 19. except entries in Class J which must be in by It o'clock. _I. 3. Payments of 52.01) will constitute a yearly membership and will entitle the member so paying to compete in any or all of the regular departments. A membership permits one free pass to the grounds, and can be used either Thursday evening or Friday but only once. Additional passes will be allowed as follows (not more than three passes per paid up member): Horses (not race), each 2 animals over 2 - 1 pass Cattle. each 4 animals over 4 - 1 pass Swine. each 8 animals. over 8 - 1 pass 4. Classes of livestock will be called as they appear in the book and animals must be in the ring :within Eve minutes after their class is called. S. ENTRY FEEz 15% from all winnings from $5.00 up. Breed shows are-exceptions to this rule. Membership only deducted up to

6-. All parties having paid-their subscriptions, and only such will
be entitled to compete. -
7. No exhibitor will be allowed privilege of striking out entires made and placing other articles in their place and no competitor-will be entitled to more than one prize in any one section of a class in indoor department, or more than 2 prizes in any section of a class in livestock. 8. Prize winners to the amount of $5.00 or over are required to leave membership fee for 1976. 9. Payment will be made by cheque before December 1. Cheques must be cashed by March 1 following or revert to Society. 10. All stock and articles exhibited must be bona fide property of the exhibitor and all grains, seeds, fruits, flowers and vegetables exhibited must have been produced on farm or garden of exhibitor: any person infringing on these rules shall forfeit prize money. 11. Judges will be particularly requested to hayed regard to merit in all stock and articles exhibited for competition and to withhold any premiums if they consider the stock or article undeserving, and that a first or second prize be not given to a third class animal, or in sweepstakes if they consider the competition not sufficient. 12. Any exhibitor or attendant who is guilty of creating a disturbance, whether by openly criticizing the judge or using obscene language to any judge or officer, shall forfeit the right to any premium and may be suspended by Society from exhibiting. Vehicles parked in no parking area shall be towed away at the owner's expense. 13. No two persons will be allowed tc\:\show on one ticket. 14. Any members showing cattle shall give his or her animal a name, and any member exhibiting an animal in more classes than one (except for special or group prizes) shall forfeit all prizes awarded should any be taken. No prize badges or medals allowed on animals in ring and no.prize tickets or medals allowed on pens until after such animals are judged. 15. Livestock parade at 4 p.m. Each exhibitor's herd must be represented or prize money may be withheld.
16. No person allowed in ring except judges or managers, and no
person allowed to speak to the judges while on duty except
appointed officers.
17. No member, being an exhibitor In any class.shall act as judge or be present or accompany the judge while that particular class is being judged. 18. No articles to be removed from showroom'before 5 p.m. on second day of fair. Exhibition hall shall be cleared of persons at 5 p.m. of that day. and none will again be admitted except those holding passes and entitled to remove goods on exhibition. 19. While officers and directors of this Society will use every available means to prevent accidents in and about the grounds, it must be strictly understood that all persons going into or upon the grounds must personally assume all risks of accident-or injury from accidents from any cause whatsoever. 20. While Directors will take every -possible precaution under the circumstances to secure safety for exhibitors, the owners-themselves must take the risk of exhibiting, and should any article be accidentally injured, lost or stolen. the Directors will give all assistance in their power towards recovery, but will not make any payment for the value thereof. 21. In case of bad or unfavorable weather or other reasons causing the receipts to fall short of paving the expenses and all prizes in full, a proportionate amount. exclusive of membership. will be deducted from such prizes to enable the directors to balance the accounts without loss to the Society. The Directors feel that this course is the most equitable and fair that can be adopted and any deduction will fall proportionately on all those participating in the amounts collected and not leave the whole sum to be a debt to bear heavily on the Society and thus impair its usefulness. 22. Decision of the judges is final. 23. Directors are not responsible for articles, left in the Round House after .6 p.m.. Sept. 19. In case of error or omission in the P rize List the Directors will have the power to correct the same.

Brucellosis conducted within 60 days of the opening day of the FAIR.

It is the responsibility of the exhibitors to contact the Health of Animals
Branch office serving this area, at least 3 weeks prior to the
commencement of the Fair.The test will he conducted by an officer of the
Branch. free of charge.

judges. but as a guideline points should be allocated to each

7. BREEDERS., HERD (Bred and Owned by exhibitor)
A group of 4 animals._ Both sexes to be represented.
Each animal in the group must have been exhibited in one of the
above classes.
Entries must meet with the requirements set out in GENERAL
RULES. 1. b) GROUP CLASSES:
All entries must be owned by and registered in the name of the
exhibitor.
The registration certificate for each respective animal must show
the exhibitor as "breeder" and as "owner" - in both cases either as an
individual or in partnership. In other words, the exhibitor may be a "joint
owner" of an animal and/or the "joint breeder" of an animal.
Therefore the animals must be:
1. Owned and bred by the exhibitor, or
2. Jointly owned and bred by the exhibitor, or
3. Owned and jointly bred by the exhibitor, or
4. Jointly owned and jointly bred by the exhibitor. • -
R. 0. P. REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTRIES IN CLASSES FOR BREEDING
ANIMALS
All breeding class entries including the female with calf at
foot class must hayed been performance tested under an officially
recognized Beef Cattle Testing Program. Animals not old enough to have
completed test will be elrgibre for showing provided that evidence is
available to-show that they have been enrolled in an officially recognized
"Beef Cattle Testing Program."
NUMBER OF ENTRIES PER CLASS
Note: For the purposes of the Beef Cattle Classifications one entry
shall be interpreted as follows:
All registered beef cattle of one breed, whether owned by one
person or more than one person (individually or jointly ) which are
maintained on one farm or breeding unit are considered to be the
production of one farm or breeding unit.
Seaforth Aricultural Society authorizes two entries per class in a
maximum of two classes in Section B.
Perth Huron Shorthorn Club will present Rosettes to the exhibitors
of the Champion Shorthorn male of the Sh vv. and to the Champion
Shorthorn female of the Show, donated by Past President Frank Falconer.

Section 1 - EDUCATIONAL
GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
I. No entry fee will be charged.
2. All entries must be made to ;he Seaforth Junior Fair Secretary,
Len MacGregor, Clinton, by the Club Leader, not later than Friday,
September 12th, 1975.
3. all money will be paid to Club Leaders in the case of 4-H Clubs
(both Homemaking and Agricultural) who will be responsible for
distribution of same. Junior Farmer and Junior Institute money will
be paid to the Club Secretary.
4. Displays must be in place by 6 P.M., Thursday, September
18th, for immediate judging. The Display Area will be open
Wednesday, September 17th, at 8:00 P.M. and all day Thursday,
September 18th, 1975 to 6:00 Ply!.
5. Cost of material should not exceed $20.00 in value. Hydro will
be available if required..
6. Displays are to be designed and erected by club members. Club
Leaders and others may be asked to assist in fife planning.
7. Clubs participating will receive Transportation Assistance of
10c per mile one way from the central location of the Club,
maximum subsidy of $5.00. (Clubs within 10 miles excepted). This.-
amount will be paid to the Club Leaders who makes entry for the
Club.
CLASS 1 - JUNIOR FARMER - JUNIOR INSTITUTE
CLUB EXHIBITS
1. Junior Farmer club members may compete at only one Class
"B" Fair in the same class in any one year.
2. At least three clubs must be represented in each Int er-Club
Class in order for the Fair to qualify for a Federal grant.
3. Open to Junior Farmer and Junior Institute Clubs in Huron and
adjoining counties organized in 1975.
4. Table space of six feet will be available for each exhibit.
5. Prizes: Championship Ribbon; A Exhibit $20.00:- B Exhibit
15.00; C Exhibit $10.00.

CLASS 2 - 4-H AGRICULTURAL CLUB EXHIBITS
1. 4-H Club members may compete at only one Class "B"' Fair in

Class in order for the Fair to qualify for a Federal Grant.
3. Each 4-H Club organized during 1975 in Huron and adjoining
counties may enter one display.
4. Displays will be six feet long. 36 inches high. 36 inches deep.
Tables will be available to set displays on.
5. Exhibits shall be judged by score card as Class I.
6. Prizes: Championship Ribbon: A Exhibit $20.00; B Exhibit
$15.00; C Exhibit $10.00; all other exhibits $10.00 each.
CLASS 3 - 4-H HOMEMAKING CLUB EXHIBITS
1. Open to 1974-75 4-H Homemaking Clubs in Huron who have set
up exhibits at a 1975 Achievement Day.
2. Clubs should not set up an exhibit from a demonstration or skit.
Exhibits other than those of topics stated below will not he
recognized as creditable.
3. At least three clubs must be represented in each Inter-Club
class- in order for the Fair to qualify -for a Federal Grant.
.4. -Table space of 4-5 feet will he available for each exhibit. Be sure
to state the exact space required when making entry.
S. Uniform recognition of $8.00 will be given to all creditable
exhibits.
6. Clubs will be restricted to one entry in a Class -A -. or one
entry in Class "B". or one entry in a Class "C" Fair in one year.
7. Exhibits may be placed on the following:
Section 2 - FIELD CROP
Rules & Regulations
t. Open to all 1975 members of organized 4-H and Junior Farmer
and Institute Clubs in Huron and adjoining counties.
2. Entries must be in place in the Fair Building before 12 o'clock
noon Oil Thursday, September 18th. Judging will take place
Thursday afternoon.
3. Entries must be grown on exhibitor's farm in 1975.
4. All kindsoof 4-H Clubs (Beef, Grain, etc.) and Junior Farmer
Clubs are encouraged to participate in their respective sections.
5. Any entry in Class 1 A and B. 2A and B, 3A and B. 4A and B will
consist of three members' exhibits (ie. 2A - 3 members each to
exhibit I r4 hale of first-cut hay) from a club. In 4-H entries the Club
Leader's name will appear on the entry tag.
6. Entries will be judged on a group basis. Entries consid:red of
top ranking quality (Group 1) will receive an award of $9.00; second
ranking group entries, an award of $6.00; all other creditable
entries, will receive $3.00 in Classes 1. 2. 3 and 4.
SPECIALS: The Huron County 4-H Club Leaders' Association will
donate a 20-1b. turkey to the 4-11 Leader whose three club members'
entries rank first in Section I A.
The Huron County Junior Farmers Association will donate a
20-lb. turkey to the President of the top Junior Farmer Club whose
three members' entries rank first in Section 1B.
TheHuron County Soil & Crop Improvement Association will
donate an award in' each of Sections 2A and* 2B t6 the first place
winners. These specials will only be available where there are three
or more entries per class.

4-H BEEF CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
Rules & Regulations
1. No entry fee will be charged.
2. All entries must be made to Seaforth Junior Fair Secretary, Len
MacGregor, Clinton, by the Club Leader not later than Friday.
September 12th, 1975. All entries must be on the grounds not later
than 11:30 A.M. on Fair Day. September 19th. Only boys and.girls
who are members of 4-H Calf Clubs in 1974 are eligible to compete
and must show the ca'f entered in their Club project. Judging will
commence at or after 12:30 P.M. at the Directors decision.
3. Prize money won by members of Calf Clubs will be paid toClub
Leaders, who will be responsible for distribution of same.
4. All entries in this section shall be stabled together at the fair in
space allocated by the Fair Board and/or Junior Fair Directors.
5. Entries will be judged on a 1st. 2nd. and 3rd prize group
system.
b. Clubs which bring,three or more calves and which show a group
of three calves in the Inter-Club Competition will receive
transportation assitance of 20c per mile one way from central
location of the club to Seaforth. Maximum subsidy 512.00. Clubs
within 10 miles excepted. •
This amount will be paid to the Club Leader who makes entry for
the club.
7. At least three clubs must be represented in each Inter-Club
class in order for the Fair to qualify for a Federal Grant.
4-H BEEF CALVES
CLASS 1 - Baby Beef Steers: Steers born between July I, 1974 and
December 31st, 1974 (those not nominated for Queens Guineas
Class) to be judged on quality and finish.
CLASS 2 - Queens Guineas Nominated Steers: Steers born between
July 1st, 1974 and December 31st 1974 to be judged on quality and
finish.
GRAND CHAMPION STEER: Ribbon and prize to the value of
$25.00, donated by TOPNOTCH FEEDS LIMITED, Seaforth.
RESERVE CHAMPION STEER: Ribbon.
CLASS 3 - Junior Heifer Calves, any beef breed, born between
January 1st, 1975 and April 30th, 1975 to be judged on quality as
breeding stock.
CLASS 4: Senior Heifer Calves, any beef breed born between July
1st. 1974 and December 31st, 1974 to be judged on quality as
breeding stock.
SEAFORTH I.G.A. offers a 55.00 prize for best steer nominated for
Queens Guineas.
STEWART PROCTER AWARDS - In memory of Stewart Procter,
R.R.#5. Brussels, the family will make an award of a -suitable book
to the Huron County member exhibiting:
1. Champion 4-H Shorthorn Steer
2. Champion 4-H Shorthorn Heifer
GRAND CHAMPION HEIFER AND RESERVE - Ribbon.
NOTE: Calves in Classes 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be judged an the group
