The late game proved a little
more one sided when the Villag.
ers opened a 1-0 series lead with a
relatively easy 16-6 win over the
Teachers. Both teams opened
strong as the Villagers scored 4
runs in the first on five hits while
the Teachers replied with 2 runs
on 3 hits. In the second frame the
Teachers evened the count at 4 all
out scoring their opponents 2-0
and it looked like a real cliff
hanger. However the Village
seemed to regain their composure
as they took control of in
the third inning moving in front
7-4. The Teachers just couldn't
muster an attack and made
several costly errors as they blew
the game.
Rick Woods went the distance
for the winners allowing ten hits
while Howard James allowed
foukeen hits but errors proved
the downfall of the Teachers as
