She was chosen during a pre-fair dance Saturday night. With her are Linda Skinner, front left, and Heather Macpougald(second from the left rear) runners -up. Gwen is a daugahter of Mr. and Mr,s Ross Kahle of Mitchell and represented the Mitchell Lions club in the competition. The B team was 14.6defeated by Cc !borne B team. 'OnAug. 12 the Stanley Junior Girls defeated Goderich Twp. 31 - 18, at Holmesville. The Senior Gilds lost 18 - 12 to Goderich Seniors at Brucefield. At Hully Gully on Sunday, Aug. 10, a men's team comprised of Stanley Twp. Council, Recreation Commiffee and Ball coaches was defeated by a team of other men from the township. Personals Mr. and Mrs. W.T.McAsh flex to the .Maritimes arid spent a week travelling through Prince Edward Island and NQVa Scotia, including the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton island. Mr. and Ms. Wm. Laidlaw and family of Dorchester visited with Mr. and Mrs, Bill Chessell on Wednesday. Sunday, visitors were Mr. and Mrs, John Jefferson and family of Sault Ste Marie and Mrs. J.R.Jefferson of Cromarty. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Taylor holidayed in Northern Ontario for a few days, going as far as Wawa. Mr. Ross Whittaker, who was a patient in Seaforth Hospital for a few days, is home again. We'd like to 'welcome newlyweds Wayne and Joan Beierling to our village. They have purchased the John Ostrom property Where Mrs. McCullough and family Wed until recently. 'Wayne is from the Zurich community and Joan was the former Joan Allen from Hensall. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hunt were members of their family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Van Dop of Kitchener and Miss Cresson Hunt of London. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Douglas of Yorkshire, England, Calvin Jervis of Clinton, Miss Roberta Neal of London. and Mr. and Mrs., Wes Riissell of Cromarty spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan McClymont.
