On the winning team are, 01 front, Trevor Fortune, bat boy, left, Glendon Coombs, Brian McCowan, Steve Ungarlan, Brian Geddes. 2nd. row, Harold Chesney, Doug Scott, Gerry McLaughlin, Clayton Geddes,Joey.Anstett, 3rd. row - Jim McLeod, coach, Kevin Young, Mike Scott, Allan Nigh, Gerry Bedard and Rick Fortune, coach. The bantam Lacrosse team wound their season up with a busy day last Saturday in Kincardine. Playing in the Bluewater Minor Lacrosse Playoffs the Seaforth team placed second. In their first game they dropped a 10-2 decision against a strong Kincardine team. Seaforth's only goals came from Paul Carter. In their second match the team defeated Owen Sound by an enccitiraging shore of 9 - 4. this marked the first time that Seaforth has beaten Owen Sound. Leading point getter was Steve Seymour in this encounter. The final game of the day saw Seaforth, meet the Kincardine team again with the final score 16-4 in favour of Kincardine who won the BLMA championship. Dave Ellis scored a hat trick in the loosing cause. A reminder to all players who still hae sticks or sweaters, they should be returned to the Recreation Office. Seaforth Regier Transport were Law bowlin AgitigrailatliEVA4ung, 3E,V0Vii - defeated Tuesday night by Kincardine in Lacrosse action. This was the first game in a best of three semi-finals. The first period was evenly matched with Kincardine only - leading with a one goal edge. The following' period was the downfall for Seaforth, giying three more goals to Kincardine's total. This was a result of Seaforth playing short-handed for half the' period because of penalties. In the final period, Seaforth became more aggressive, scoring one and allowing one. Kincardine play ed exceptionally well with Seaforth always just one step •behind. The winners were given twelve minutes in penalties with Seaforth also receiving , eight minutes. Single goals allotted to Regier's Transport were to the credit of Jim Nigh and Glen Stewart. Neil Beuerman, goalie for Seaforth, played an outstanding game', stopping many a would-be goal for Kincardine. Winthrop Warrettes played Dublin Tueday nite and defeated them 11 to 7. Winthrop Warrettes played Walton at Winthrop and beat them 16 - 8. The semifinals are to be played Wednesday, August 20 when the Expos, coached. by Don Drager meet the Winthrop team coahed by' Gord Pryce.The Expos were this years winner in regular season play. The second semi-final will see Reg Aubin's Pirates clash with George Ribey's Yankees. The two winners will meet on Wed.. Aug. 27 for the championship game. Teams were present from Ingersoll, Woodstock, Wingham, Waterloo, E.zeter, Atwood, London, Stratford and Goderich. The. Seaforth Ladies held a successful ladies tournament on Wednesday last bowling for the Whitney Cup. In first place and winning the trophy were Jean Lunn and Thelma Dale pf Seaforth with 3 W plus 44. Second place yent to Ella Munro and partner with 3 W plus 41 . Third prize went to Notah Finnegan and partner of Wingham with 3W plus 38. In 4th, place was Edith A rgyle and partner of Goderich with 2W plus 48 o/p 5 whilf. Mrs. Whitton's entry from Sarnia were 5th with 2 plus 41. In out of town tournaments ,Mr. and Mrs. Mel Brady of Seafo rth placed 1st in mixed doubles on Saturday evening and in Ladies doubles at Goderich Ella Munro and Jean Lunn wer second, Also John and Donna Patterson were in the prize money at Woodstock recently. Local jitneys continue to. draw good numbers and last Thursday night's winners were Ladies 1st.
