Mrs. Lavern Wolfe
800 halves of barbequed
chicken were quickly consumed
by a hot, hungry crowd at last
Wednesday's chicken Barbeque
sponsored by the Brodhagen
Chamber of Commerce.
The Brodhagen Brewerettes
and Brewers played softball
before a capacity audience with
the Brewerettes claiming a 1341
victory over Mitchell and the
Brewers bowing 7-4 to Conroy.
All indications pointed to a
smashing success for the
Chamber of Commerce and a good
time had by all.
Rev. and Mrs., Robert Rock,
Timothy and Phillip, Miss Ethel
O'Brien, Dartmouth Nova Scotia
were guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Edwin Rock and Norman for a..
week. They also called on rela-
tives and on Sunday they had a
family reunion at the home of Dr.
and Mrs. Karl Campbell,
Goderich.

The' Gessangverein- Lotzurl
from Switzerland presented Swiss
Folk and Country songs in six
languages in their national
costumes in St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, . Saturday evening.
Pastor Horst welcomed them and
said how proud we were to have
them come to our church and how
lucky to be able to see and hear
them. There was a good atten-
dance and it was enjoyed by all.
The pastor thanked them also in
German. Lunch was served by
the wive's of the Church Council to
the singers. Next they go to
Elmira Mennonite Church.
Mr. Ervin Miller's friends will
be glad to hear he has come home
from Seaforth Community Hospi-
tal on Wednesday.
Mr,. and Mrs.. Lloyd Elliot
accompanied by Mr. and Mrs.
Glen Rose on their vacation to the
coast in B. C. They ,returned
home last week.

now and reports of excellent
quality and yield' have been
reported. Louis Coyne reports 80
bushels per acre. This could be a
record.

Roys Men's Softball team held
Staffa scoreless foil:WO-third§ of
Sunday night's •game. Staffa's
late rally wasn't big enough to
catch up to Roys and they lost
25-8. Don Johns pitched for Roys
with Keith Patterson taming over
for the ninth inning. Lloyd
Cameron was on the mound for
Staffa.
South Hibbert bantam boys were
defeated by Elimville in the last
game of the regular schedule.
Both North and South Hibbert
made the playoffs which will be
starting soon.
Tuesday night's game saw
Cromarty girls defeat Staffa
seniors. Bonnie McPhail pitched
for the winners and Teresa Miller
and Valerie Glanville shared the
Staffa pitching.

place throughout the day and
evening. The annual pork barbe-
que will be served at five o'clock.
Carpenters are busy working
on the new booth at the Cromarty
Ball Park. It is hoped that the
booth, part of the building which
also includes washrooms, will be
ready for Saturday's Sports Day
and barbeque.
