A TNtiest that Seaforth agree to
SUPP1y water to land owned by
Paitott on the south west
_:boundary of town was sidestep-
ped, by council Monday night.
The town apparently gave Mr.
Palton verbal assurances that
:they would supply water when
° they bought 12 acres of his land
last year. A buyer is interested in
the property and wants that
assurance in writing, Seaforth
lawyer Don Stewart told the
council.
Council decided to pass the
request on to the PUC for a
recommendation :.s to whether
they could supply the water. The
agreement that Mr. Dalton asked
the town to sign says that he will
pay for transporting the water
and that the town can dictate
where he is to hook into their
lines. There would be no time limit
on the agrei ment and it would
apply to future owners of the
land, Mr. Stewart said.
"It depends how much water is
required", Councillor Charlie
Campbell thought. Mr. Stewart
replied that the agreement spec-
ifies enough water to graze stock.
Stock presently grazing on the
land has access to town water
because the fence between Mr.
Dalton's property and the town's
allows it, Reeve John Flannery
commented.
"Where do we draw the line?"
councillor Ellis wondered, "there
is not enough water to supply the
town but we can supply out of
town?"
Councillor John Sinnamon said
permission had been granted to
out of town homeowners to use
Seaforth water and he asked what
was different about this case.
Mayor Cardno said out of town

Improvements to James St. will
end at station 10 on the engin-
eer's drawings, 350 feet east of
'Helen St., council decided Mon-
day night. The additional cost of
an extension to Helen in storm
sewers' and sidewalks would be
about $19,000 engineer James F.
McLaren Ltd. had estimated.
Resurfacing will go from North
Main St. west on James to station
10 and reeve John Flannery said
the engineer hopes to have the
tender' out shortly.

"Over There" and they wave
their arms in a direction.
If you don't catch them after
line one you may find you have a
long walk to find' in which park
they are settled.
Another solution could be
names for the different parks.

Auditorium on Monday afternoon played by Mrs. Elsie
Henderson.
The Clinton Centennial Band led by Miss Legg played a
concert on the front lawn on Tuesday evening. The weather
was perfect for a b6nd concert and most of the residents were

great progress during the past year under their new leader.
The "Over 90 Club" held a picnic on Wednesday afternoon
