St. Columban
Mosquitos, pee wees sti II winning
Mr. Jack Klein, Pontiac ,
Michigan, an old time resident of
this community and noted vocalist
and entertainer, 'called on Mr.
and Mrs. V.J.Lane recently.
Rev. Fr. Jack McIver a local
boy who has spent some years as
a missionary in Latin American
countries, is relieving Fr.
Oostveen here. Fr. Oostveen
expects to go into St. Joseph's
Hospital, London for surgery
soon.
Mosquitoes and Pee Wees
continue to win
Playing in Goderich the St.
Columban Mosquitoes took a 3 - 1
decision. July 9th they whipped
Clinton 5 - 1 in what was
described as /a , listless affair.
Clinton seemed to give up early in
the game. Coyne and Nash with 2
each, Vanbakel 1 were the goal
getters. Their coach Joe Visser is
presently recovering from a
piece of steel entering, his eye
while at work. We hope this does
not prove serious.
The Pee Wees took 2 games the
past week beating Goderich
Friday, July 11th 6 - 3, Exeter
July 11, 6 - 0 and played
Wednesday 16th 7 p.m. against
clinton here. Verbern, Mark
Murray and S. Steinman scored 2
each . The Bantams however had
2 cancelled games the past week,
and are expecting to play later in
the. week.

For the purposes of a chapter of a book

— that she be looking for a job

— and have few contacts in the city,
